Job summary:
Reporting to the Director, Brand Creative, you will develop, manage, and maintain the visual creative direction and tone of lululemon’s creative assets, both stills and video, including but not limited to eCommerce product display pages across our all our categories.
For PDP assets, you are responsible for setting the creative tone for lululemon’s visual product education that supports design intention, product fit and function. You possess intimate knowledge of the seasonal product creative vision, design functionality and direction, color theory and “Why We Made This”. You are able to marry product education with brand guidelines in a visually stimulating manner that drives desirability and guest click through.
In addition to delivering visual excellence through cutting edge creative & intimate product knowledge, you hold a passion for the digital landscape with a comprehensive understanding of the China’s online ecosystem and ecommerce marketplace. This should include macro trends, major relevant players and industry best practices.
You are well versed with retail and are able to deftly drive cross-functional alignment in order to create assets that a in line with our product flow, feeding our omnichannel needs. You are a digital native and is savvy digital marketing needs, e-commerce needs and is a strong advocate to drive initiatives that prioritizes a consistent and elevated omni-channel guest experience. This knowledge allows you to lead a crossfunctional creative team, bringing creative concepts to life and ensuring varying touchpoints capture the look and feel that makes our brand unique.
This position is based in Shanghai, China and requires travel for business needs.
Core accountabilities:
• You are responsible for possessing an intimate knowledge of seasonal design themes, design collaborations, color theory and for leveraging this knowledge into product display packages that visually marry design intention & functionality with our brands creative codes & guidelines
• You are accountable for strategizing, developing and maintaining our ecommerce product display creative direction across on model, lay flat and future direction into invisible mannequin and video. Your creative direction seamlessly links design intention with brand guidelines, creating industry leading assets and ‘one voice’ for our creative output
• You concept and drive individual creative for our capsule collections that help this pinnacle product assortment both stand a part for mainline and tie back to the greater collective brand of lululemon. You work in tandem with brand to establish new guidelines for capsule collections that honor the designs intention in an elevated manner
• You are intimately connected to the pulse of the ecommerce industry, aware of shifting trends in the ecommerce landscape, and the resulting impact to guest online shopping behavior. You are self-possessed in leading strategic adjustment to our PDP which answers to evolving industry trend, establishes lululemon as a leader in visual education and constantly inspires new ways to engage our guest and drive click through
• You manage a team that could include junior art directors, freelance art directors, photographers and digital techs. You are responsible for setting creative & enrolling the team in our visual direction and ensuring imagery answers to said creative. You create the conditions for both internal and freelance teams to thrive and develop their careers
• You work collaboratively with our internal brand and digital & ecommerce team (photographers, digis, producers and stylists) as well as cross-functional partners on our Brand Strategy, User Experience and Technology teams
• You provide direction and feedback to your team that drives the concept, answers the brief, and drives the visual direction of the brand
• You clearly communicate creative concepts to different parts of the business ensuring the idea is understood and aligned across key partners
