The Senior Director, Footwear Product Development will lead and execute the footwear product development strategy. This leader will have the opportunity to lead the function through new ways of working that support our fast-moving and rapidly expanding business. This includes having a vision to enhance our performance and lifestyle focus, bringing your expertise in product, process and team building as well as working in close collaboration with Sourcing to have costing and partner relationships top of mind proactively.
The Senior Director, Footwear Product Development will bring an enhanced understanding of product commercialization in a way that accelerates what is possible. The Senior Director, Footwear Product Development will be a strategic thought partner within the footwear product creation team (and with the SVP of Footwear), ensuring the team is aligned towards a common goal and a dynamic extension of each other. Equally as important is to lead and empower our footwear product development team, developing the team towards new heights.
The ideal candidate will be both a growth architect and collaborator – who will help commercialize lululemon’s vision, develop a clear product development strategy, lead the product testing strategy and oversee its execution. You will be based in Portland, Oregon and oversee a team of 12+ full-time employees. You will report to the SVP of Footwear, sit on the Footwear Product Leadership Team and work closely with all its members, including leaders in Footwear Design, Footwear Innovation, Footwear Product Management & Merchandising, and Footwear Supply Chain Operations.

The Senior Director, Footwear Product Development will be a key member of the team leading the future of lululemon’s footwear business, and a pace setter for product development across the footwear industry globally. In this role, you will be instrumental in building an effective and dynamic product development team at lululemon.
This leader will Transform our Footwear Product Development team to enable hyper-growth as an organization, as part of a world class team. Transformation in all areas with a specific call out around our performance and lifestyle businesses, focused on creating a best-in-class strategy that is consistent and of the best quality. This leader will also be driven towards excellence in costing, product testing and partner strategies and relationships on a global basis as we continue to expand our business. This leader will be a key member of the Product team changing the future of lululemon’s business.
You will lead the Wear Testing team to test, validate, enhance and enable product excellence. You will be key to setting the standard for both performance and lifestyle product testing, differentiating them as necessary to achieve optimal results and confidence in the products across the range.
You will build and bring to life the Product Development blueprint via a roadmap alongside the strategic 3 year plan that defines product development excellence. You will bring to life the vision of what lululemon needs to do to take our commercialization and ways of working to the next level, focusing on future forward strategic investments in tools and resources against growth milestones and elevating our performance and lifestyle efforts globally
You will continue to build a world class and growth-oriented product development team. You will understand current team and talent gaps and lead and empower our team to build a world class, leading-edge product development team based on expected growth, top talent markets and location strategies.

compensation and benefits package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $208,000 – $251,300 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
