As our Sustainable Packaging Operations Lead, you will drive the delivery of our sustainable packaging program roadmap, delivery, and monitoring in support of our Impact Agenda objectives.


A day in the life

The Sustainable Packaging Operations Lead is an equal mix of project management, performance management tracking, and communications. This role will focus primarily on supporting our sustainable packaging projects. You will coordinate teams to implement new programs to reduce packaging across our store and e-commerce network, while managing compliance with all relevant sustainability regulations.

• Provide project management and implementation oversight for all our retail packaging reductions programs

• Schedule all cross-functional meetings to ensure program implementations are coordinated across all relevant stakeholders to ensure program success

• Develop realistic timelines and all program dependencies for new packaging programs

• Monitor program performance, utilizing IT platforms and other data analytics methods, to track sustainable packaging reductions and/or improvements across our store and e-commerce network

• Manage extended producer responsibility and other packaging and shopping bag regulatory obligations across our global operations

• Create all communications and training materials for our packaging program rollouts, as needed

• Develop processes to update all relevant internal stakeholder on program progress, highlighting wins and challenges across our roadmap of activities


Qualifications:

• Bachelor and/or master’s degree in areas of business, environmental science, sustainability, or engineering.

• 2-3 years’ work experience in relevant business sustainability or retail operations, in mid to large business contexts, ideally with experience in apparel and/or retail.

• Demonstrated expertise and passion for corporate sustainability and sustainable packaging.

• Prior experience with extended producer responsibility and other packaging and shopping bag regulations is an asset

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of distilling and communicating complicated information in an interesting, accessible, and relevant way across all levels of the business.

• Project management guru with the ability to manage and oversee multiple complex projects, diverse stakeholders, prioritize time and tasks.

• Exceptional analytical mind, with attention to detail.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and effectively manage and meet multiple deadlines.

• Demonstrated creative problem solver, taking a methodological and solutions approach. You ask good questions to understand issues and generate workable solutions.
