A day in the life:

The Design Assistant at lululemon supports in creating world-class athletic apparel that is acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality.  You play a key supporting role and this work is key to the success of the line each season.

  • Colour strategy and application specialist of product. 
  • Uses advanced skills to create palettes based on activity and global colour strategy, signed off by colour director.
  • Crafts a guest and brand-right narrative through colour, with guidance.
  • Plans and executes the product colour details right for the fabric and style.
  • Plans and executes product details reviews colour dev. troubleshoots achievability issues 50% of the job.
  • Collaborates with material and product designers to achieve the desired colour
  • effects finishes.
  • Works closely with the print team to apply
  • print vision to the line.
  • Produces the best expression of colour to
  • line plan strategy for merch + design
  • colour reviews.
  • Leads in-depth on how to research guest trends, insights, competitors, for a focused
  • market segment/activity. 
  • Solves complex problems
  • in-depth knowledge and experience Communicates effectively
  • Resource mentor for the team Works independently

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years minimum industry experience is required
    • BA, BFA or BS in Design required (or equivalent)
    • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
    • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Excel, Word, Mac platform
    • Previous experience with colour is a plus
