Description & Requirements

Who we are

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.

About this team

The Future Experience function is a small but mighty new team within the Global Digital & Omni department. The department overall is responsible for lululemon’s e-commerce sites, apps, and retail technology tools, globally. The Future Experience program’s mission is to accelerate and facilitate the delivery of innovative digital experiences for our guests (customers) and educators (employees). We’re a nimble, scrappy group that loves to live into possibility and dream big. We’re creative and curious and do whatever’s necessary to test our riskiest assumptions of emergent technologies and experiences. We partner closely with our product management, user experience, analytics, technology, and strategy partners. We conduct research and testing to understand if our proof-of-concepts have a path forward to production implementation (our ultimate goal). We are a hybrid team, located across geographies and time zones, requiring comfort and flexibility working in virtual environments. If you want to help invent the future of shopping online, we’re the team for you.

About this role

The Concept Manager is responsible for managing a concept platform, with the goal of accelerating the adoption of innovative digital experiences and technologies for our guests (customers) and educators (employees). We view a concept platform as an area of exploration (e.g., immersive visualization) made up of multiple workstreams. The role is responsible for working with senior leadership to align on concept platform objectives and key results, define strategies and tactics for execution, and manage various research and testing workstreams within the platform. The role must distil inputs from a diverse set of stakeholders, thought-leaders, and partners (internal and external), drive alignment and strategy for ambiguous or undefined challenges, and influence cross-functional decisions and product roadmaps.

What you’ll do

  • Self-direct discovery activities for aligned workstreams within a concept platform.
  • Bring clarity and a lululemon-centric point-of-view to macro-trends and inventions in retail and omni experiences and technology.
  • Use external platforms and partners (i.e., CB Insights, Gartner, PSFK, etc.) to gather and consolidate insights to support internal research and testing activities
  • Draft research and testing briefs and statement of works for potential partners. Work with Finance and Legal partners as required (funding mechanisms, intellectual property considerations, etc.)
  • Enrol cross-functional partners and align research and testing objectives with business needs.
  • Organize and facilitate cross-functional enrolment and ideation sessions. Organize and manage logistics for cross-functional innovation events (e.g., pitch days, design sprints, hackathons, etc.)
  • Conduct research and testing in service of unique-points-of-view and proof-of-concept development and refinement.
  • Work with research and testing partners (e.g., vendors, agencies, consultancies, and academic institutions) to ensure delivery against stated objectives.
  • Summarize research and testing results for various audiences – from senior leadership to day-to-day product management, design, and technical teams. Use the appropriate tools, artefacts, and fidelity level for the audience/purpose (e.g., insights reports, market analysis, technology assessments, vision decks, journey maps, prototypes, design principles, business cases, pitch decks, etc.)
  • Be an advocate and a partner for innovation principles and practices across the Global Digital & Omni team, technology teams, and other key stakeholder groups.
