about this team
The Lease Management team is responsible for the management of obligations stipulated in the lease and ensuring all lease terms are adhered to and are in alignment with company standards and strategy for the North American retail portfolio. This team analyzes, reviews and prepares final lease agreements for execution and evaluates lease terms to ensure financial and key metrics are in alignment with executive approval and adhere to global deal standards. Lease Management is responsible for reporting and analytics of upcoming lease actions and date management to reduce risk. This team works closely with various internal and external cross functional partners, including lease administration, real estate, construction, finance, operations and legal and work in partnership with Landlord’s.
a day in the life: what you’ll do
· Responsible for all existing store lease obligations within your assigned portfolio (lease reviews, renewals, amending agreements, estoppel certificates, SNDA’s and other required agreements)
· Abstracting and verifying lease language into a lease management software and file management system
· Manage the day to day landlord relationship within your portfolio
· Analyze lease terms and supporting data identify lease violations
· Communicate and track critical dates for new and existing locations
· Support operation partners with lease related inquiries
· Securing and negotiating temporary leases within tight timelines
· Find lease obligation opportunities within your portfolio
· Work with various internal and external cross functional partners, including lease administration, real estate, construction, finance & legal
qualifications
· 2+ years’ experience in commercial real estate
· Strong understanding and interpretation commercial lease language
· Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
· Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
· Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills
· Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with internal and external business partners
· Resourceful and high level of initiative
· Experience with lease management software Lucernex an asset
· A university degree is an asset
