about the role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Reporting and Accounting, the Mexico Accounting Manager is responsible for the Mexico accounting function, including ownership of regions internal and external financial statements, operational in-market processes, local compliance requirements and directs the in-market finance team. The Accounting Manager will also provide support for other various financial and non-financial matters.


a day in the life: what you’ll do

  • Responsible for accuracy of the month-end close process including booking any manual journal entries, updating schedules, accrual reconciliations and ad hoc analysis
  • Working with the Group shared services function, managing the delivery of the accounts payable function in Mexico
  • Design, and implement, a roadmap for a fully integrated lululemon accounting function 
  • Manage local Mexican service providers in market to maintain compliance and mandatory reporting 
  • Work with Corporate and Sales Tax teams to support filing tax returns and audits
  • Ensure the delivery of locally audited financial statements, working with our external auditor
  • Support on the outcomes of the risk & advisory audit, overseeing the development of new processes to improve controls and decrease risk


qualifications, skills & experience

  • Experience at Big 4 accounting firm preferred, retail experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to communicate effectively to cross-functional and cross-country teams, management and external auditors
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Candidates should be qualified Accountant with at least 7 years of experience
  • Knowledge of  US GAAP
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, and Hyperion is an asset
  • Good knowledge of MS Office with strong skills in Excel
