About this role

We are looking for a bright, experience, and energetic leader in architecture who is passionate about solving complex challenges in collaboration with cross-functional leaders. As the Domain Architect for Retail Engineering, this role will drive the futuristic architecture and innovative design of our retail systems supporting a seamless omni retail experience for our guests in EMEA and APAC. This includes transactional experiences, fulfillment experiences, guest engagement experiences, and empowering our educators with digital tools and data. The portfolio includes our global point-of-services system (XStore), enterprise inventory service, RFID, payments, in-store mobile applications, and other technologies supporting educator and guest experiences that are localized for each region/country in EMEA and APAC.

You will demonstrate technical depth, thought leadership, authentic interpersonal skills and passion to elevate the retail engineering domain to a new level. You will help define the strategy and target state for lululemon’s retail systems to support the organization’s rapid growth and international expansion. You drive innovation through “possibility” thinking and pragmatic practices. You will partner with delivery leaders to apply our architecture principles and promote design patterns and practices of highly scalable and available services and applications.

Responsibilities:

·         Establish and lead technology strategy, roadmap, and architecture for retail engineering in support of EMEA and APAC region business goals
·         Work in creating Global future state architecture based on localized needs for EMEA & APAC regions
·         Work with enterprise architecture function to contribute to and apply the vision for future state architecture including cloud, micro services, and integration patterns
·         Create and manage current/target state, architecture decisions, common framework, and components
·         Identify areas of strategic technical debt, perform cost/benefit analysis for resolving this debt and integrate into roadmap
·         Track and apply innovative and existing technologies, anchoring them in the business model to assess their potential, and use rapid prototyping approaches to evolve innovations
·         Build trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders and technology delivery for the successful adoption and deployment of systems
·         Maintain expert-level knowledge of business objectives, initiatives, and roadmap

Qualifications:

·         Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

·         7+ years architecting / designing / implementing large-scale enterprise systems

·         6+ years of experience in retail industry or other consumer-facing industry

·         Deep experience with cloud, mobile, modern web technologies, and integration patterns

·         Expertise in core retail technology (POS, mPOS, RFID, etc.) with broad knowledge on key market players, and technology trends

·         Adaptable communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting with all levels of an organization across verbal, prose and visual engagement

·         Exceptional customer centric mindset with strong critical thinking skills

·         Demonstrated ability to translate conceptual and strategic thinking into practical solutions

·         Familiarity with popular architecture frameworks (i.e., TOGAF) and software architecture design patterns

·         Understanding of modern API and near-real-time messaging systems such as MuleSoft and Kafka

·         Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts as appropriate for the audience

·         Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills

·         Prior experience operating in a global business in multiple markets an asset
