The Footwear design team is a diverse group of creative and strategic thinkers, who are future thinking, detail-orientated and solution focused. They are at the forefront of performance and lifestyle footwear and aware of macro trends and how this relates to the sportswear industry. They are strong communicators who value and develop their cross functional relationships. A day in the life:

The Director, Performance Footwear Design at lululemon leads and creates world class footwear that is acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality. You will lead design teams for Performance Footwear to execute the design strategy. You will create and present seasonal design and concept strategy and guidance. You will consistently and productively partner with your key creation counterparts in Merchandising, Development, Innovation and Sourcing.

Key responsibilities:

·       You are responsible for leading a world class design team to design and execute seasonal styles that reflect lululemon’s Footwear design ethos

·       You will manage the Performance Footwear design team and align with Men’s and Women’s apparel strategies

·       You will ensure your team aligns and executes the creation and GTM calendar and delivers high quality outputs at key milestones

·       You will lead the seasonless design process, allowing for exploration, ideation and big ideas that can be integrated into future seasons

·       You obsess the guest and are on the forefront of trends and insights

·       You will creatively lead your team to design to costing/margin targets

·       You are solution oriented and solve for performance, feel and UPOV needs

·       You form strong bond and a collaborative culture with key creation counterparts - Merchandising, Development, Innovation and Sourcing

·       You are accountable for the results of product and aware of how the line is currently performing in the market


  • 12+ years minimum industry experience is required
  • BA, BFA or BS in Design required (or equivalent)
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Excel, Word, Mac platform

·       An understanding in 3D design would be a benefit
