about the role:

Leads the creation and testing of multiple innovation concepts through combining foresight, scientific research, corporate strategy, channel and guest needs to create net new value propositions within apparel for guests. These concepts are built to explore potential future opportunities for lululemon across services, products and experiences. They are built to influence strategic decision making across the business and other innovations teams to ensure the success of the business moving forward into the future.


about you:

  • Expert at leading multiple teams through the innovation process to structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, test concepts, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and commercial outcomes.
  • Possess a deep toolkit of methodologies, and frameworks and ability to interpret multiple skillsets (i.e. Science, Design, Research, Business, Brand). 
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and challenge assumptions productively.
  • Proven ability to plan, execute and monitor project timelines including managing resources, budgets, vendor contracts and relationships.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas, inspire teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Comfort in highly ambiguous space and ability to independently define the path forward and lead with personal responsibility.

key outputs & inputs:

  • Managing Opex Annual Spend 
  • Influencing Future Innovation portfolio strategy and specifically defining project strategy within their portfolio areas
  • All project level decisions including budget and timelines, vendor choices, methodology types, project outcomes, chosen concepts to progress.
  • Partner engagement plan and specific content to share 
  • Project Team OKRs/Goals and resourcing
  • Validated or Invalidated concepts
  • Project strategy for the pilot implementation of successful concepts
  • Working prototypes, Test outcomes, Tangential learnings
  • Applicable guest insights for partners
  • IP

qualifications 

  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD in business, science, design, engineering, technology, or industrial design 
  • 5-10 years of experience in fast-paced R&D / Innovation / Strategy environments with a focus apparel innovation 
  • 3-5 years experience delivering breakthrough innovation in sports / wellness.

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $130,800-$171,700 CADannually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
