About this role 

The Director, Buying China designs and manages the China regional merchandising strategy for all products categories, deliver China financial targets by successfully managing the product lifecycle and go to market process of assigned product categories thru effective teamwork and partnership 


A day in the life:  

·       Sets China Product strategy and assortment architecture that support departmental/divisional merchandise strategies under the direction of the Senior Management of Global Merchandising and Head of Product China and APAC.

·       Influences Global Merchandise strategy through delivering Regional strategic market insights and performance analysis. Identifies new opportunities to deliver regional business growth – China unique needs

·       Responsible for 2 to 3 years forward looking strategy                                                               

·       Accountable for departmental performance results and meeting financial targets and KPI's set by the company

·       Drives China pricing architecture for the assigned product categories, collaborating with global Directors of Merchandising and Design to ensure consistency across the brand and relevance for China

·       Collaborates closely with Global Merchandising teams to ensure that regional needs are incorporated into the global line



  • Degree holder in business, commerce, fashion merchandising or other relevant discipline

·    More than 10 years of Buying experience in multiple categories with at least 6 years of strong management experience

·    Exhibits impactful communication with peers up to Senior leadership team level

·    Builds and develops highly effective teams
