About this team
The Store Development team helps spearhead the company’s brick and mortar growth through the acquisition, design and construction of new stores. While helping our organization expand its footprint within the region, we are also responsible for keeping our internal stakeholders closely informed as we grow.

A day in the life
As part of a tight-knit team, you will play an instrumental role in helping lululemon expand across mainland China. Your main focus is to oversee the processes involved with building our small-scale new stores, renovation, remodeling. In addition to this, you will also collaborate closely with construction managers to consolidate regulations, guidelines, project documents, optimize project management system. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Partner with construction managers optimizing project management SOP in multi-aspects like budget, scheduling, risk/conflicts management.
  • Act as a main point of consolidating/maintain construction fit-out standard, process assets, cost data, close-out documents and regulations geographically.
  • Partner with Real estate, Construction Managers, Designers, and internal business units to support store planning, design, construction, renovation, and remodeling projects.
  • Carry out small-scale projects independently, Manage overall construction process, track key milestones and budgets, monitor contractor’s on-site & online works – build within budget, fit-out criterion, government regulations and on time.
  • Coordinate internal and external business partners and maintain contractor and vendor relations for each project. 
  • Coordinate with vendors to implement procurement plans.
  • Work with construction team, in-house designer and design consultant to innovate new store concept, material and fixture mock-up.
  • Work with VM, Operations Technology and Finance, aligning on planned expenditures and resource allocation across the entity portfolio.
  • Confer with project and store personnel, resolve problems and support set timelines and budgets
  • Provide updated project cost data/close-out requirements.
  • Support teammates on their projects, facility partner for maintenance problem solving.
  • 5+ years construction-related work experience
  • Project management experience required
  • Knowledge of landlord and government approval process (expectations, processes, guidelines etc.)
  • University degree preferred
  • Retail related construction experience preferred
