a day in the life: key responsibilities

The Manager, Global Trade Optimization owns the Trade team's global duty spend. This includes reporting and analysis of duty commitments globally, as well as KPIs and all financial metrics related to duty optimization programs. The Manager is responsible for all reporting functions, including partnering with technology to develop key reports that may unlock additional opportunities. The Manager drives continuous improvement of optimization programs and identifies opportunities for further optimization, and owns implementation of cross functional strategic initiatives that drive progress in these areas.

  • Achieving and surpassing duty-savings and cost-avoidance targets while maintaining compliance with government regulations
  • Deliver committed duty savings 
  • Manage reporting function and develop enhanced analytics
  • Produce vision for future optimization and path to achieving greater savings
  • Drive strategic initiatives focused on duty optimization
  • Own trade budget and responsibility for AOP process, partnership with FP&A
  • Lead and develop team members
  • Own responsibility for duty/tax spend
  • Accountable for reporting and analytics, in current state as well as future enhancements
  • Responsible for optimizing duty spend, including financial ownership of trade optimization programs (drawback, first sale, trade programs, etc.) in partnership with trade subject matter experts
  • Strategic Initiatives ownership 
  • Management of budget and AOP process

 

qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in supply chain, finance or a related field; Masters in Supply Chain or logistics field/MBA/CPA a plus
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a supply chain or finance capacity
  • Strong background with cross functional stakeholder management
  • Proven track record of strong people leadership and development
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with high degree of curiosity
  • Proven work ethic with strong desire to excel and succeed; experience in implementing complex projects
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and power BI; knowledge of Integration Point and GT Nexus a plus
  • Knowledge of international trade agreements, duty drawback regimes, first sale programs and practical knowledge of logistics operations

Compensation and Benefits Package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $107,500 - $141,100 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
