a day in the life: what you’ll do 


  • Lead the development and execution of the Global Franchise 5-Year Strategic Plan and annual budgeting process, aligning cross-functional teams to drive long-term growth and operational excellence.
  • Own the end-to-end market entry strategy, including in-depth market research, partner identification, real estate planning, and business case development to support successful global expansion.
  • Establish and refine partner selection criteria, assessing brand alignment and operational capability to recommend high-potential franchise partners in new and emerging markets.
  • Develop and deliver compelling brand pitches to executive and C-suite stakeholders, managing outreach and leading negotiations to secure strategic franchise partnerships.
  • Build and nurture trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing commercial and contractual terms while ensuring seamless market launches and sustainable franchise growth.

 

qualifications, skills & experience 


  • Develop and implement Global Franchise 5-year plan and annual budgeting process including revenue projections by market and channel as well as topline SG&A requirements in partnership with FP&A and Planning.
  • Conduct market research into each new market, identifying potential franchise partners, determining the real estate road map and building the business plans.
  • Establish criteria on which potential partners are assessed to determine brand fit with lululemon and recommend short list of potential partners in new markets.
  • Own outreach to potential partners including brand pitch creation and presentation to executive and C-suite leaders within their organisation.
  • Lead and influence commercial terms negotiations and represent the business in contractual negotiations.
  • Engage cross-functional teams in initial negotiations where relevant, identifying solutions to potential roadblocks to ensure new market launch successfully and seamless achieve targeted timelines.
  • Build strong relationships and trust with franchise partners and internal stakeholders to align on business priorities, ensure preparedness, and support sustainable growth.
  • Develop a deep understanding of global market events, ease of business entry, and cost to operate in new markets to inform financial terms negotiations.

 

qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience working with external partners in a franchise, wholesale, marketplace or similar capacity
  • 5+ years’ experience in a business development or strategy focused role
  • Demonstrated success leading commercial negotiations
  • Sound understanding of apparel markets across multiple regions
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
  • University degree
