The OTW design team is a diverse team of creative and strategic thinkers, who are future thinking, detail-orientated and solution focussed. They are at the forefront of activewear and aware of macro lifestyle and fashion trends and how this relates to the active industry. They are passionate about Run, Train & Yoga and fulfilling every guest needs in their wardrobes.  They are strong communicators who value and develop their cross functional relationships. core responsibilities

  • Support the creation of OTW-driven product by assisting with day‑to‑day design tasks across items, full looks, features, and silhouettes. 
  • Help create flat sketches and technical drawings that accurately reflect design intent, garment construction, and pattern details. 
  • Create and maintain colour sketches and overviews.
  • Help prepare files, mock-ups, prototypes, and presentation materials for key seasonal gates. 
  • Attend fittings to capture notes on construction, pattern adjustments, and silhouette refinement. 
  • Assist in dressing mannequins and organizing samples to support storytelling and design reviews. 
  • Maintain and update overview files, line sheets, VLPs and seasonal documentation for team alignment. 
  • Support sample review by checking construction accuracy and ensuring pattern execution matches design intent. 
  • Collaborate with and support Designers to keep information flowing and projects moving. 
  • Shadow senior design work to learn construction principles, pattern logic, and how full looks are built. 
  • Develop your emerging design point of view through hands‑on work and guided mentorship
  • Own the sample fabric ordering process
  • Maintaining the digital Outerwear construction library on Illustrator (we have detail views and x-ray views of our constructions for tech packing purposes)

  • Observing runway, lifestyle, and art references into a refined, brand-right aesthetic that feels modern and relevant.
  • Own a curated assortment of styles aligned to your level and the complexity of the category.
  • Participation in fit sessions, collaborating with technical design and sample rooms to sculpt silhouettes through draping, mock-ups, and iteration.
  • Partnership cross-functionally with product development, raw materials, colour, merchandising, sourcing, and design operations to ensure cohesion from idea to execution.
  • Exposure to top-tier, expressive design assets—concept sketches, CADs, tech packs, and BOMs—that support premium product outcomes.
  • Engagement in key reviews and feedback moments, translating insight into thoughtful design evolution.
  • Studying the balance of aesthetics, comfort, and support that feels confident, modern, and considered.

 

you bring: 

  • A strong foundation in what’s in trend, with an intuitive understanding of design, trends, and culture. 
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment—open to feedback and energized by collaboration.
  • A curious, exploratory mindset, driven by materiality, innovation, and problem-solving. 
  • Highly organized and solution-driven. 
  • Knowledge of pattern drafting, garment construction, and sewing wovens as well as knits. 
  • Clear visual and verbal communication skills 
  • A commitment to inclusive, thoughtful design—creating products that feels supportive and empowering on diverse bodies.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator for technical sketching and Photoshop/generative AI for visual storytelling.
  • A refined eye for proportion, detail, and balance, aligned with a modern, elevated brand aesthetic.

 

qualifications

  • 0-2 years of design experience, ideally with internship experience
  • Strong sketching and CAD skills; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Interest in 3D design tools and emerging technologies, including generative AI.
  • Experience working within global development calendars and with offshore manufacturing partners.
  • A genuine commitment to an inclusive product and an inclusive design culture.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $55,300-72,600 CADannually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
