about the team
As a member of the lululemon Talent Activation team, the Director, Executive Talent Management role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute your experience and passion for all things talent in a dynamic, fast-growing, and global business.
This role will report into the Sr. Director, Talent Activation and be part of a broader team of talent activation professionals supporting development and implementation of talent activation programs and initiatives. This role is responsible for executive talent management strategy and all cyclical operations to support this program space.
Specifically, this individual contributor role will be responsible for working with cross-functional partners in People & Culture to create strategies to hire, develop, and retain high performing executive talent. The role focuses on identifying leadership strengths and development areas (e.g. experience, education, exposure), understanding individual development plans needed to cultivate leadership skills, and routinely assessing current and future-state executive skill needs. The role advises on strategies for executive development such as rotational opportunities, upskilling experiences, and education. The role manages strategic executive talent decision making mechanisms such as talent review sessions, executive succession planning, executive promotions, and performance assessment. A critical part of this role will involve partnering with other teams in People & Culture and business stakeholders around the world to deep dive executive talent needs and partner as appropriate.
a day in the life
- Drive executive talent management process with cyclical support of executive talent review sessions, executive succession planning, executive promotions, and performance assessment.
- Responsible for executive talent health assessment and reporting (e.g. executive team shareouts, Board of Directors reporting)
- Contribute to the creation, implementation, and management of Talent Activation programs and processes in order to achieve strategic business initiatives. This includes setting the program strategy, communicating the vision, and managing all aspects of implementation.
- Partner with People & Culture, Learning partners and business leaders to define and establish a long-term talent strategy that may include: identifying critical executive jobs, determining executive talent skill gaps, assessing internal as well as external availability, and developing long term plans to bridge the gaps.
- Drive program goals and provide program management support. This includes defining project plans, managing implementation activities, and developing protocols, documentation, education, and communications for project rollout and ongoing management.
- Support streamlined user experience of key people processes, including identifying and operationalizing opportunities for process improvement and evolution.
- Create process improvement mechanisms including automation on some of the existing processes/ tools to ensure standardization and consistency as we scale.
- Identify appropriate metrics to measure effectiveness of Talent Activation initiatives including the ability to dive deep and partner with People & Culture and other stakeholders to drive results.
qualifications
- 7+ years of HR experience working in HR, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and/or Project Management roles.
- 2+ year’s experience leading executive talent management initiatives.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology and/or an MBA highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal skills as well as prioritization and planning skills - with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in time sensitive matters and organized to manage and track multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Possess a high level of integrity, judgment, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Knowledge of core Talent Management programs/processes, including performance management, promotions, succession planning, and talent development.
- HR Project Management experience with experience in scoping, leading and delivering complex projects. The right candidate will have a track record of project management from conception and design through implementation, measurement and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of program management lifecycle and project management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university.

Compensation and Benefits Package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $157,400 - $206,600 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.

This role is classified as Hybrid.
In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
