About this team  

The B2B Retail Engineering team is at the heart of building and supporting digital solutions that empower our global business partners to connect with our brand, products, and services. We work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and key business stakeholders to drive operational efficiency, enable scalable partner experiences, and deliver high-quality technology outcomes.

 

Core responsibilities 

As a Senior Application Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex application solutions spanning multiple business processes and system modules, establishing technical direction for the application domain including configuration standards, custom development patterns, and integration approaches while ensuring solutions meet scalability and performance requirements. You will make implementation decisions for application domain including configuration approaches, platform-specific code strategies, and optimization techniques, conduct high-impact reviews focusing on solution quality and long-term maintainability, and establish application engineering standards adopted across the domain. You will mentor application engineers at multiple levels providing guidance on advanced platform concepts and career development, partner with business stakeholders on application strategy and roadmap planning, and lead resolution of critical system issues and production incidents. This role may require availability outside of standard business hours, including on‑call support, based on business needs.

 

Select responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead implementation of complex application solutions spanning multiple business processes and system modules within established application architecture frameworks
  • Write exemplary configuration and platform-specific code demonstrating application engineering best practices in critical systems as technical reference for teams
  • Establish and enforce configuration standards, platform-specific development patterns, and application engineering best practices across multiple teams in domain
  • Conduct high-impact reviews focusing on solution quality, performance, and long-term maintainability of application systems
  • Lead incident response for major system issues including coordination and post-mortem facilitation

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree beneficial
  • 6-10 years of experience delivering complex application integration solutions and leading enterprise application implementation across teams, or equivalent
  • Proven experience driving application architecture for a domain and establishing configuration patterns and standards across teams
  • Experience designing sophisticated platform-specific coding solutions and automation strategies; track record of developing complex scripts and platform extensions addressing advanced requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to design integration architecture using platform-native capabilities and established integration patterns; experience defining data mapping and transformation standards for complex cross-platform data flows
  • Deep understanding of data analytics fundamentals including data reporting, and data analytics principles, with hands‑on experience applying industry‑standard practices to support reliable system integrations and end‑to‑end data flows across multiple platforms.
  • Proven experience designing, configuring, and supporting enterprise B2B and e‑commerce application platforms, leveraging configuration‑driven capabilities and targeted platform‑specific custom development to enable wholesale business processes at scale, while leading Sev‑1 and Sev‑2 production issue troubleshooting and system stabilization efforts.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based web and backend services, including cloud databases and relational (SQL) databases. Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka), integration services, data platforms (e.g., Splunk), and monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Datadog).
  • Experience with retail‑focused enterprise applications, such as eCommerce platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), payment gateways, Retail Management Systems, tax and compliance applications, BI/reporting solutions, and CRM platforms.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $132,600 - $174,000annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
