About this team 

This role is part of retail technology leadership team accountable for the strategy, engineering, and delivery of technology to enable educator and guest transactions and experiences through Payments, and Fraud Protection Technologies.

Core Responsibilities

As a Senior Technology Manager, you will lead the evolution of payment capabilities across physical and digital channels. Your mission is to simplify and consolidate the payment landscape, integrate market-leading methods, and identify cost-saving opportunities. By delivering secure, seamless experiences for our guests, you will enable future omni-channel innovation and set the foundation for scalable, resilient payment solutions.

You are also leading a core team to identify and implement new Fraud protection technologies which will support our company's goals of acquiring and retaining guests and expanding the footprint to international markets.

You are a leader who is comfortable leading and managing team members with different skill sets and can communicate expectations clearly to all team members. In addition to strong management skills, you act as a leader for the technical roadmap for your team and can communicate timeline, scope, and risks to partners and stakeholders, and lead the delivery of major initiatives. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs and balance business needs versus technical constraints. Maturity, curiosity, creative problem solving, and team leadership are all essential for success in this role.

You also bring your experience, ideas, and initiatives to influence and drive change to support our growth and scaling. Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team across payment and fraud workstreams. 
  • Own delivery processes, timelines, and quality standards for resilient, high-performing solutions. 
  • Align team capabilities to business needs through coaching and career development. 
  • Drive technical excellence with secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. 
  • Champion best practices in secure coding, data protection, and observability. 
  • Partner with cybersecurity to proactively reduce fraud and prevent breaches. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to enhance in-store and digital payment experiences and ensure regulatory compliance. 
  • Oversee payment device lifecycle, replacement programs, and vendor partnerships. 
  • Promote inclusion and diversity by modeling and advancing IDEA principles.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 
  • 15+ years of IT experience with a proven track record leading complex, global technology initiatives. 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a product-centric delivery environment with experience in integration services, programming and architecture
  • Demonstrated success managing technology programs with budgets of $2M+. 
  • Strong understanding of Payments and Fraud Protection platforms; experience with POS, EMV, eCommerce payments, processing, and industry trends is a plus. 
  • Proven expertise in Payment Orchestration platforms, preferably implemented in-house using MACH architecture principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless). 
  • Expertise in AWS Services, API Gateways, Core Java, J2EE, GraphQL and microservices development. 
  • Expertise in real-time transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and dispute management frameworks, coupled with deep knowledge of global payment methods and regulatory standards (e.g., PSD2, 3DS) is a plus.
  • Experience with emerging payment technologies, such as Agentic Commerce and AI-driven payment frameworks and fraud detection techniques is a plus.
  • Experience in Payment Gateway migration projects including Token conversion, Gateway RFC process, End-to-end execution and risk mitigation is a plus.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation in payment experiences through AI, machine learning, and orchestration for scalability is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills—presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal. 
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with experience in facilitation and negotiation. 
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, drive change, and influence outcomes across teams.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $166,200-$218,200annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
