Global Supply Chain Technology delivers the platforms and capabilities that power lululemon’s supply chain—from raw material innovation and development, costing, sourcing, quality, sustainability and traceability, trade, logistics, and distribution technology. Our team works in close partnership with core business units to ensure that our supply chain remains agile, efficient, and responsive to ever-evolving market demands. A day in the life..

We are seeking a Director of Technology to define and execute the multi year strategy for modernizing and transforming lululemon’s logistics and trade technology ecosystem. This leader will shape the strategic roadmap, elevate platform capabilities, advance AI driven decisioning, and ensure operational excellence across global logistics and trade systems.

 

You will oversee a globally distributed team across North America and India, managing platforms, integrations, partner connectivity, data systems, and engineering practices that support end to end movement of goods worldwide. This role requires a seasoned leader who thrives in complex, fast paced, and highly collaborative environments.

 

This role oversees technology solutions supporting:

 

  • Global transportation (air, ocean, truckload, LTL, parcel, consolidation)
  • Trade compliance and cross border movement
  • Customs documentation, classification, duty management
  • Freight audit & pay and carrier performance
  • Partner connectivity (carriers, 3PLs, brokers)
  • Visibility platforms and event tracking
  • Integration frameworks (EDI, APIs, event-driven architecture)
  • Master data and data quality for logistics & trade
  • Exception management and operational dashboards

 

Key responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Roadmap

  • Define and deliver a multi year logistics & trade technology strategy that enhances scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Translate business needs into an actionable engineering roadmap incorporating modernization, cloud migration, real time visibility, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Partner with Global Logistics, Trade Compliance, DC Operations, and Finance to align priorities and ensure cross-functional success.

 

 

Platform & Architecture Modernization

  • Modernize existing logistics and trade platforms and integrate next generation capabilities (E2Open, Infor, or equivalent).
  • Drive transformation toward API-first, event-driven, and scalable integration architectures.
  • Lead design and implementation of secure, resilient, and responsible data management and governance frameworks.

 

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead globally distributed engineering, delivery, and support teams; develop managers and future-ready technical leaders.
  • Raise engineering standards around quality, observability, security, and system reliability.
  • Build high performing, diverse teams with a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous improvement.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee delivery, operations, and vendor/partner management across logistics & trade systems.
  • Manage budgets and investments, ensuring clear ROI and optimization of total cost of ownership.
  • Drive root cause analysis, systems reliability, service maturity, and measurable operational improvements.

 

Innovation & AI Enablement

  • Introduce AI-driven decision support for transportation planning, anomaly detection, customs workflow automation, and exception management.
  • Champion ethical, transparent, and responsible use of AI in logistics and trade operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or commensurate relative experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience with large, complex, global teams.
  • Experience leading modernization efforts for logistics and/or trade technology platforms (E2Open, Infor, SAP GTS, or equivalent).
  • Proven success delivering transformations in areas such as transportation visibility, customs automation, partner connectivity, or multimodal logistics.
  • Strong background in integration architectures (API platforms, EDI, message streaming, event-driven design).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java and familiarity with data engineering patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and deliver high-impact technology programs.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive influencing skills.
  • Continuous learning mindset that stays on the leading edge of logistics and trade technology solutions that can being value to the organization.
  • Experience with AI/ML use cases in supply chain or logistics.
  • Understanding of global trade requirements, compliance systems, and customs workflows.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.

  • Improved end-to-end shipment visibility and data quality.
  • Reduction in customs delays, exceptions, or duty overpayments.
  • Increased partner connectivity efficiency and reduced integration cycle times.
  • Improved reliability, uptime, and SLA performance of logistics systems.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $196,600-$258,100 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
