We are responsible for designing the global product assortment, creating the global colour palette, seasonal prints and graphics. A day in the life: 

  • Through industry research and benchmarking, maintain a foundational understanding of cultural and social shifts, with a keen focus on silhouettes, raw materials, colour, print and graphic techniques. With the support of the Manager and Senior Designer, organize research and share and collaborate with the team in preparation for CKO Ideation Week.
  • Through industry research and an understanding of cultural and social trends, and with support of the Manager and Senior Designer, generate  and refine ideas to support landing a key theme and content for CKO Ideation Week.
  • With support from the Manager and Senior Designer, gather colour insights, by conducting a deep dive into colour trends that all contribute to the specific shades and tones relevant for the year.  Populate the Senior Designers colour buckets and families framework with relevant research and insights.
  • Support the curation of the proposed seasonal colour palette based on direction from Design leadership, incorporating relevant feedback, trends, ideas and insights gathered at CKO ideation week. Execute on the colour lifecycle strategy as directed by Sr. Designers.
  • Capture creative direction discussion, alignment on key decisions and takeaways from meetings. Upload to a designated tracker to ensure key decisions are accurately recorded, providing a reliable reference. 
  • Contribute to the creation of names for the chosen colours in the palette, complimenting the seasonal theme.
  • Facilitate building the palette through timely correspondence with the colour standards provider.  
  • Complete all data entry and tracking of colour codes, including the names of swatches and colour attributes associated with the colour. Upload the colour palette to relevant systems, including Flex PLM. 
  • Place orders with colour standards vendor, in alignment with the seasonal colour card direction, in order to build out the seasonal colour library.
  • Support Senior Designers in the curation of content to inform art direction assets, to support cross functional teams in product commercialization.
     

 

Qualifications:

  • 0 – 2 Years of experience 
  • BA, BFA or BS in Design (or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop). Experience with 3D, visual AI software is preferred.
  • Aesthetic Intelligence: Understand and appreciate the nuances of design. It involves an understanding of beauty and style in order to develop ideas and concepts that are visually pleasing and resonate with the target audience. It includes critical thinking, cultural literacy and emotional sensitivity.   
  • Global Market and Brand Alignment: Translate global trends, research and consumer behaviors into concepts that align and enhance brand's identity and are commercially viable.  
  • Visual Communication: capturing ideas in an inspiring and dynamic way, to the team, stakeholders and cross functional partners. This includes visualization and presentation skills.   
  • Verbal Communication: Clearly articulate design ideas and concepts to the team, stakeholders and cross functional partners. It also involves listening and incorporating feedback. This includes clarity, precision and presentation skills.   
  • Color Theory and Practical Application: Knowledge of how colours interact, harmonize and affect visual perception and emotions, coupled with knowledge of their application to various materials.   
  • Project Management: Planning and organizing projects. This includes time management.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $66,000 - 86,600 CADannually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and subject to program eligibility requirements.
