Description & Requirements

Who we are

lululemon is a yoga-inspired technical apparel company up to big things. The practice and philosophy of yoga informs our overall purpose to elevate the world through the power of practice. We are proud to be a growing global company with locations all around the world, from Vancouver to Shanghai, and places in between. We owe our success to our innovative product, our emphasis on our stores, our commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we get to make in every community we are in.

About this team:

We are looking for a Bodywear Designer to collaborate with the Design Director & Senior designers in shaping expressive, next-to-skin product across our Sports Bra, Underwear, Bodywear, and Shapewear categories—where form, feeling, and function meet.

This role is about designing for the body in motion and at rest. You will translate guest insight, global trends, and material innovation into products that elevate the guest experience through comfort, movement, and modern style. From sculpted foundations to barely-there layers, your work will explore how product supports, shapes, and moves with the body—elevating confidence through thoughtful design.

As part of our world-class design team, you’ll contribute to a culture rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and craft. You bring a strong aesthetic instinct, a sensitivity to proportion and fit, and a desire to create product that feels as good as it looks.

If you’re inspired by the future of bodywear—and want to help redefine a category through design—we’d love to meet you.

A day in the life:

As a Designer within this team, you help bring close-to-body product to life from concept through completion. Partnering closely with your Design Director, senior designers and cross-functional peers, you’ll contribute across the full design journey—ideation, silhouette development, fit refinement, and final execution.

You approach design through a fashion lens, grounded in an understanding of the body, movement, and modern femininity. You’re energized by detail, materiality, and the challenge of creating product that feels effortless, intentional, and elevated.

What you do

  • Design sports bras, underwear, bodywear, and shapewear with a strong point of view, informed by evolving knowledge of stretch materials, construction, and support.
  • Translate guest insight, cultural signals, trend research, and wear-testing into product that enhances both experience and expression.
  • Interpret runway, lifestyle, and art references into a refined, brand-right aesthetic that feels modern and relevant.
  • Own a curated assortment of styles aligned to your level and the complexity of the category.
  • Participate in fit sessions, collaborating with technical design and sample rooms to sculpt silhouettes through draping, mock-ups, and iteration.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product development, raw materials, colour, merchandising, sourcing, and design operations to ensure cohesion from idea to execution.
  • Create clear, expressive design assets—concept sketches, CADs, tech packs, and BOMs—that support premium product outcomes.
  • Engage in key reviews and feedback moments, translating insight into thoughtful design evolution.
  • Stay closely connected to fabric mills, trim suppliers, and innovation partners to explore new materials, finishes, and sustainable solutions.
  • Champion the balance of aesthetics, comfort, and support, delivering bodywear that feels confident, modern, and considered.
  • Apply colour and graphics across new, core, and carryover styles, with sensitivity to material behavior, technical feasibility, and commercial intent.

You Bring

  • A strong foundation in what’s in trend, with an intuitive understanding of fit, stretch, and comfort.
  • A fashion-led design perspective, with the ability to translate cultural insight and trend direction into intentional product.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment—open to feedback and energized by collaboration.
  • A curious, exploratory mindset, driven by materiality, innovation, and problem-solving.
  • Clear visual and verbal communication skills that bring design intent to life across teams.
  • A commitment to inclusive, thoughtful design—creating product that feels supportive and empowering on diverse bodies.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator for technical sketching and Photoshop/InDesign for visual storytelling.
  • A refined eye for proportion, detail, and balance, aligned with a modern, elevated brand aesthetic.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of design experience, ideally with close to body experience, or adjacent fashion categories.
  • Strong sketching and CAD skills; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Interest in 3D design tools and emerging technologies, including generative AI.
  • Experience working within global development calendars and with offshore manufacturing partners.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive product and an inclusive design culture.

Must haves:

  • Curiosity, Creativity, and Drive.
  • Actively participate in the lululemon culture & sweat life.
  • Acknowledges the presence of choice in every moment and takes personal responsibility for their life.
  • Passionate about wellness, movement, and mindful living, aligned with Lululemon values.
  • Agile, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Vancouver. lululemon provides relocation support for the right candidate.
