About this team
As a member of the product team, the Global Planning team is responsible for ensuring financial success of the company. They work closely with Merchandising to understand new product trends as well as members of the Retail and Operations teams to understand and respond business product needs. The team monitors the business on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, understanding changes in trend and reacting to the business to maximize sales and mitigate risk. The priority is to understand and protect the guest experience, followed by delivering profitable sales growth (comp and GM$s).
 


A day in the life: 
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sales Merchandise Planning, this role plays a critical part in optimizing product distribution, driving sales performance, and enhancing overall profitability. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners, address complex business challenges, and further develop strategic and analytical decision‑making capabilities.
 
  • Manage initial allocations and in‑season replenishment from the Distribution Center, including pre‑allocations and alternative receipt methods, in alignment with overall inventory and sales strategies.
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret inventory positions to ensure alignment with approved sales plans, including ongoing tracking of program sales performance and inventory ratios.
  • Identify and execute business opportunities by forecasting sales trends, analyzing market dynamics, and delivering strategic, data‑driven recommendations.
  • Own the development, maintenance, and enhancement of key financial reporting tools, providing both standard and ad‑hoc analyses to support informed decision‑making and drive business results.
  • Design and maintain reporting templates and analytical tools to support business analytics; lead weekly reporting and data validation within established SLAs; prepare, consolidate, and present monthly reports and executive‑ready materials, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all financial data, including variance identification and explanation.
  • Serve as a functional planning representative on cross‑functional project teams as assigned, supporting on‑time project delivery through clear communication of action items and status updates; prepare for and actively participate in Merchandise Review meetings.
 
Qualifications:
  • Four year college degree or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years proven experience with data analysis
  • Previous experience with merchandise and planning systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel is required.

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $71,400 - $93,800annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and, subject to program eligibility requirements.
