About this team 

The Workforce Agility and Pay, Compliance and Risk team at lululemon is a global function within People Enablement Technology that delivers Workforce Management capabilities across our Store Support Center, Retail, and Distribution Center channels. We are responsible for supporting scalable, fit-for-purpose systems and process architecture that enhances and enables all WFM system configuration of employment laws related to hiring, wage and hours, time off and entitlements. This is a global team, primarily out of Seattle, WA and Vancouver Canada.

 

Core responsibilities 

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex testing systems spanning multiple services and teams, establishing technical direction for quality engineering including test automation patterns, framework standards, and quality practices while ensuring solutions meet reliability and maintainability requirements. You will make implementation decisions for quality domain including test framework design, automation approaches, and tooling approaches, conduct high-impact reviews focusing on test quality and long-term maintainability, and establish quality engineering standards adopted across the domain. You will mentor QA engineers at multiple levels providing guidance on advanced testing concepts and career development, partner with engineering leadership on quality approach and testing roadmap, and lead resolution of critical quality issues and test infrastructure problems.

 

Select responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead implementation of complex testing systems spanning several services and teams within established quality architecture frameworks
  • Influence shift-left quality culture across teams by establishing code review practices, quality gates, and engineering standards that prevent defects during development
  • Establish test automation patterns, quality standards, code coverage baselines, and engineering best practices across teams
  • Design and champion test automation approaches and frameworks that improve quality engineering productivity and software reliability
  • Conduct high-impact code reviews of both application and test code focusing on quality, coverage, performance, and long-term maintainability

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree beneficial
  • 6-10 years of experience building complex testing infrastructure, establishing testing frameworks, and ensuring quality across teams, or equivalent
  • Proven experience designing test automation architecture for a domain; track record of establishing testing patterns, frameworks, and test standards across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to design testing architecture for a domain and drive testing decisions across teams balancing coverage, execution time, and maintainability
  • Experience designing scalable test infrastructure architecture with CI/CD integration; track record of driving CI/CD testing practices across teams ensuring comprehensive quality gates
  • Experience in workforce management applications and payroll systems and integrations is a bonus, particularly with UKG and Dayforce
  • Strong data quality and validation skills, combining SQL-based reconciliation and troubleshooting, API/integration knowledge (REST, JSON, file-based), end-to-end and regression testing across systems, with optional light scripting (e.g., Python) for automation.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $132,600 - $174,000annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, and subject to program eligibility requirements.
