ABOUT THIS TEAM

The Store Development team is responsible for the architectural layout planning, store design, and construction of all retail locations in México, inclusive of mainline stores, pop-up stores, outlets, and Alternate Channels innovative concept stores for lululemon. We deliver on the company’s strategic growth plans through highly efficient operating standards and the focus of sweat, grow, connect as manifested through the execution of the brand’s pinnacle expression: the physical retail store. Through clarity, accuracy, and efficiency we support the business ambitions and enhance guest experience while delivering consistent design queues to create and reinforce a strong brand identity.

JOB SUMMARY

This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with experience in mature, global organizations and a strong background in project and program management. The Manager will oversee all functions of store design and construction in México, ensuring cohesive timelines, scalable processes, and strategic alignment with global standards. They will be responsible for transforming complex, ambiguous work into clean, repeatable systems and tools that support future growth.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor—able to zoom out to shape long-term vision and zoom in to guide detailed implementation. They will also play a key role in mentoring and upskilling the local team, helping to elevate capabilities and lead the transition to new systems and tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Oversee the portfolio of projects from site identification through design and construction, delivering to key milestones and metrics while staying within the approved financial plan.
  • Lead the development and implementation of scalable processes and tools to support the design and construction team, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Manage cross-functional coordination across internal and external partners, ensuring timely and high-quality execution of design and construction packages.
  • Drive strategic planning and execution for store openings, optimizations, renovations, and relocations throughout México.
  • Ensure all projects meet brand standards, building codes, health and safety regulations, and are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Lead the transition to new systems and tools, supporting the evolution of store development practices in México.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Present and liaise with external stakeholders, including landlords and vendors, to gain approvals and ensure alignment.
  • Report progress and updates to senior leadership, including the Senior Director, México and SVP of Strategic Enablement and New Business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent experience within a construction environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing and executing retail store design and construction, ideally within a mature, global organization.
  • Proven expertise in project and program management, process design, and operational scalability.
  • Fluent in AutoCAD, Acrobat Pro, Excel; Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and Smartsheet are a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes and construction practices.
  • Experience with vendor management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex initiatives from strategy through execution.

  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
