About this team

The People & Culture (P&C) Partner is a strategic advisor and trusted collaborator to the business, delivering impactful, business-oriented people solutions. You play a key role in shaping workforce strategy and culture by providing expert guidance across talent management, employee relations, leadership development, and absence management. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you proactively manage all aspects of people-related matters, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a high-performance, inclusive environment across our Retail teams.


A day in the life 
Strategic Business Partnering:
  • As as a strategic P&C advisor to business leaders, supporting the development of inclusive, high performing leadership teams 
  • Influence decision-making by providing proactive, data-driven insights on organization effectiveness, workforce trends, and leadership development 
  • Deliver expert guidance on complex P&C matters, including policy interpretation, organization design and change management. 
  • Partner with Regional funcional leaders, Asset Protection and legal to ensure compliance with local employment regulations and risk mitigation
  • Leverage people analytics to identify trends across SSC and co-create targeted strategies to drive engagement, retention and performance.
  • Lead organizational design reviews and change initiatives, including communication planning.


Employee Relations:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations (ER) matters, partnering with People Practices to manage disciplinary actions and termination.
  • Lead and conduct investigations into violations of company standards, in collaboration with People Practices.
  • Partner with the Health & Wealth (H&W) team to support role accommodation, return-to-work planning and long term absence.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures and local labor laws


Performance Management:

  • Coach managers on performance management strategies to enhance individual and team effectiveness 
  • Guide managers through the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), offering tools and support for successful implementation. 


Talent Development and Workforce Planning:

  • Advise on Workforce Planning, helping hiring managers assess future resourcing needs aligned with business strategy, skills gaps and turnover trends.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and FP&A to support recruitment planning and budgeting 
  • Drive annual people programs for APAC retail including Pace, compensation review and bonus programs


People Operations:

  • Lead employee pulse processes, monitor employee engagement and provide advice and recommendation to managers to identify, develop and implement action plans.
  • Recommend continuous improvement of policies and practices, in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Validate and confirm that all P&C administrative forms/systems are correctly completed by managers with appropriate approvals, and regularly create and maintain employee records in Workday.
  • Partner with Talent acquisition to support and facilitate on hiring and onboarding processes 
  • Ensure that all Workday people transactions and reporting is completed in a timely manner along with general P&C administration management in partnership with People Experiences support team.
  • Closely work with Learning & Leadership Partner and cross functional leaders to create SSC engagement and events. 
  • Any other duties and tasks that assigned


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Business (Human Resources Management degree preferred).
  • 8 years’ experience in P&C BP/generalist experience in the retail (or other similar fast paced) sector.
  • Experience coaching and developing team capabilities; trusted partner with skills to support leaders to lead from clarity
  • Consulting and collaboration skills – skilled at consulting with wide variety of partner types.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and ability to apply to a variety of situations. 
  • Experience managing employee records (HRIS), and working with other HR Systems.
  • Personal responsibility to see issues through to resolution and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Integrity – Do what they say they will do, by when they say they will do it.
  • Open to giving & receiving feedback – they feel there is always more to learn and have a willingness to admit failures.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Mandarin
