About this team 

The architecture group at lululemon is responsible for guiding the design and implementation of technical strategies that support every aspect of our rapidly scaling global business. You will work in a matrixed environment alongside peers in business, engineering, program, ux and strategy – among other disciplines – to collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions that drive lululemon’s business goals. In addition to your primary team, project, or portfolio you will be supported by a diverse Architecture Community of Practice, which provides learning and governance resources to all architects and will help you build a strong and robust practice of leadership grounded in technical proficiency, innovative thinking and empathy. 

 

A day in the life: 

 

  • As Principal Architect you will manage a portfolio of solution architectures and technical strategies serving one or more major (one L1 to multiple L2) business capability groups. In partnership with other senior leaders, and architects of all levels, you will work to establish and govern strategic target state architectures. You will provide overall technology guidance & mentorship and serve as subject matter expert for the specific Business and Technology Directors that are primary stakeholders. 
  • Interpret business, technology and threat drivers, and develop frugal & practical security roadmaps to deal with these drivers. 
  • Develops and maintains a security architecture process that enables the enterprise to develop and implement security solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology and threat drivers.   
  • Create security current and future state strategy & architectures which includes roadmaps & capability mapping for assigned capabilities and organizations. 
  • Translate complex security-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by peers, senior management, directors, and engineers. 
  • Create enterprise risk strategies across the enterprise.  This includes application, platform / infrastructure resiliency, employee safety, fraud – eComm & Retail, physical security (guards, badging), CCTV, etc. 
  • Guide teams to apply security controls using security & regulatory frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS, MITRE-ATT&CK framework, Threat modeling (STRIDE, etc.), PCI, HIPAA, Privacy, and other relevant regulations. 
  • Support program and project delivery by setting solution development priorities for Architects. 
  • Conduct research to identify and summarize emerging security threats relevant to lululemon's capabilities and recommend effective mitigation strategies. 
  • Evangelize security across the organization. 

 

Qualifications:| 

 

  • BS (or equivalent credentials) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible 
  • Knowledge of how to apply security controls within: AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba CSPs.  Microsoft Entra Id, IAM solutions, etc.   
  • Experience with Security products / tools:  SIEMs, IAM, Vulnerability Management, Microsoft O365, DLP, penetration tests, threat intelligence 
  • Relevant retail security industry experience required, including eComm 
  • Minimum eight years of software architecture experience 
  • Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and; ability to author, evangelize and educate 
  • Experience with the enterprise technology procurement process 
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed multi-region cloud based systems. 
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space 
  • Knowledge of large-scale computing solutions and ability to design distributed systems. 

 

 

Compensation and Benefits Package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from  annually

$187,000-225,000; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
