about this team:

The Global Planning team is responsible for the creation and execution of the sales and inventory plans that support overarching business financial objectives and the product strategy. They work closely with Merchandising to understand new product trends (Merchandising) and regional/climate selling, size trends, and ensures product is sent to the right Distribution Centre. The team monitors the business on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, understanding changes in trend and reacting to the business to maximize sales and mitigate risk. The priority is to understand and protect the guest experience, followed by delivering profitable sales growth.


a day in the life:

The Senior Manager, Global Merchandise Planning partners with Global Merchandising to develop the financial architecture, global category plans and drives alignment on the Global Line Architecture (Sales, IMU, CC Targets). This person sets the financial framework, strategy and targets that support departmental/divisional merchandise strategies they own. The Senior Manager, Global Merchandise Planning partners with Global Merchandising to incorporate relevant regional input to build and quantify shell plans and preliminary assortments, supporting both Global and Regional seasonal strategies. You must collaborate effectively with Global and Regional Planning, Sourcing, Production and the Global Brand Team to bring the product line to life.


  • Develop the financial architecture and global category plans by class, activity, franchise
  • Partner with Global Merchandising and drive alignment on the Global Line Architecture
  • Accountable for driving accuracy for the Global Merch Planning team in completing the global quantification of the assortment (vendor allocation units, GVLP units, forecast rolling 24 month Demand Plan)
  • Responsible for hiring, team/individual development
  • Accountable for departmental/team execution and results• Drive cross-functional alignment around resources needed to bring product strategy to life
  • Partners with global merchandising in finalizing the Seasonal Product Roadmap and Assortment Strategy
  • Develop content for showback to CMO (including strategy, directional investment level)


qualifications:

  • College certificate or University degree is required, preferably in Commerce or Business Administration
  • 7+ Years of Planning experience or progressive financial analysis and reporting experience, combination of people management and industry experience
  • Experience and proven ability in coaching, mentoring and leading a team of direct reports
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a cross functional team
  • Expert knowledge of Excel is required
  • Excellent team player as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal) & extremely organized, thorough and able to prioritize

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $155,800-$204,400annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and, subject to program eligibility requirements.
