The Legal Department serves our collective by providing balanced legal and strategic advice. We educate and collaborate in a fun and unique way, offering creative solutions to secure the future of our organization. Associate Counsel will report to the Director, Legal.
core responsibilities
As Associate Counsel, you’ll play a key role in managing and resolving disputes across a broad spectrum of legal matters. This role is ideal for a litigator with strong analytical skills and a pragmatic mindset, who thrives in a fast-paced, people-first environment. You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the Legal Team in managing pre-litigation and litigation matters, including, consumer, employment and some commercial disputes
- Advising business partners, including our Guest Education Centre, on risk mitigation and legal exposure across various areas of the business
- Conducting legal research and preparing strategic responses, pleadings, and internal communications
- Collaborating with external counsel and internal stakeholders to develop dispute resolution strategies
- Monitoring legal developments and assessing potential impact on operations
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, and communications related to dispute resolution, including alternative dispute resolution
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on legal processes and outcomes
qualifications
- LL. B or J.D. with 1-4 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (prior in-house experience an asset)
- Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of litigation (employment litigation experience is an asset)
- Exceptional written and verbal advocacy skills, with a track record of persuasive legal writing
- Good judgment with an understanding of when to ask for guidance or input
- Ability to build trust and credibility across cross-functional teams and external partners
- Has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously in an entrepreneurial, rapidly scaling and changing environment
- Keen attention to detail, ability to execute requested assignments and as part of a team, and excellent organizational skills

Compensation and Benefits Package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $102,800 - $134,900 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
