a day in the life 

The Associate Legal Counsel provide a day-to-day legal support on compliance projects and programs to help drive a compliance culture and serve the product, international, sustainability, product and packaging, risk advisory services and supply chain teams.


  • Support Manager, Compliance Counsel, on compliance projects, program updates and general legal assistance.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory compliance developments.
  • Interpret laws in the context of the company's activities.
  • Support in ensuring that key personnel are in possession of necessary information and offering cross functional support.
  • Provide compliance-related legal guidance regarding products/services, new initiatives, complaints, and issue resolution.
  • Support developing, implementing, and overseeing aspects of lululemon’s regulatory compliance program, including third party risk management and enterprise-wide regulatory projects.
  • Monitor for regulatory change, perform analysis of changes, and oversee business implementation of changes in a timely manner. 
  • Conduct research and contribute to emerging regulatory compliance projects. 
  • Advise numerous internal business units on compliance and regulatory issues.



qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or the equivalent and J.D. from an accredited institution.  
  • Called to the bar and in Good Standing with a Canadian Law Society
  • 2 to 5 years of compliance experience. Global and/or retail experience a bonus. 
  • Experience in the support or implementation of compliance programs preferred.
  • Proven ability to interpret and provide guidance on laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to boil down complex compliance matters into easily understandable requirements or guidance.
  • Experience in sustainability, anti-bribery and anti-corruption law, global trade compliance issues and other supply chain-related subjects preferred. 
  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team-oriented, and organized.
  •  Experience balancing multiple, competing priorities and changes in scope/direction.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work fast & smart independently.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational & time management skills.

Compensation and Benefits Package  

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $102, 800 to 134,900annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
