about this team

The Guest data science team uses data and machine learning algorithms help us understand the best way to serve guests needs. We drive revenue and engagement for organization through all touchpoints with our guest, from marketing to contact with our Guest Education Center. Our love for data and learning helps improve every guest’s interaction. 

 

a day in the life: what you’ll do

Develop, manage and evangelize predictive modeling tools based on CRM guest identification and interaction history. These models will be used across lululemon for audience-level customization and journey measurement.

  • Manage a team of 3-5 Data Scientists building guest targeting and behavioral measurement platforms.
  • Define day-to-day work prioritization, process, technical requirements for all production modeling work.
  • Work with MarTech engineering + Product Management to define technical and platform requirements for Data Science development environment
  • Work with Retention marketing, MarTech, Paid Marketing, and Ecommerce product management to develop and deliver audience selection and management tools in Salesforce Marketing cloud, paid marketing platforms (Google Search Ads, DV360, Meta), website, and App
  • Provide ad hoc measurement and evaluation of CRM audience deployments across paid marketing, retention marketing, and Ecom.
  • Develop advanced behavioral segmentation, LTV, and guest-level incrementality  models.
  • Develop uplift modeling capabilities to target Markdown and Promotional audiences to maximize incremental revenue while minimizing cannibalization. 
  • Identify which models and processes can be effectively localized for international markets

 

qualifications

  • Masters (or equivalent experience) in a technical field such as statistics, engineering or computer science.
  • 8+ years (or equivalent education + experience) in a technical role (data science, data analytics, engineering, biostatistics) 
  • 3+ years leading and managing a team
  • Experience developing statistical and machine learning models
  • Proficient in SQL programming
  • Proficient in programming in a statistical language (Python) with deep experience using relevant packages (e.g. scikit-learn, XG-Boost, causal impact, Prophet) 
  • Experience with modern software collaboration tools (Git)
  • Experience in a leading Consultancy or global retail/brand a bonus 
  • Understanding of database technologies, technical architecture, and machine learning tools

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $158,000 - $170,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
