a day in the life: what you’ll do
You are responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive Consumer-facing communications strategy to support the near and long-term goals of the Americas and Global Guest Innovation division of lululemon, to enhance the brand’s reputation and visibility in North America.
- Develop and guide the external Consumer media strategy and execution for North America, to introduce lululemon to new guests and position the brand as a premium performance brand with influencers and culture drivers
- Oversee and manage the relationship with the external PR agency, providing strategic direction, setting objectives, and ensuring seamless execution of campaigns, activations, and always on messaging that align to North America’s brand objectives
- Develop and execute comprehensive earned PR strategies tied to key campaign moments and product launches, driving the process from ideation through to implementation to maximize media coverage and brand visibility
- Cultivate earned media opportunities by fostering meaningful relationships with influencers and journalists to share our brand story in ways that resonate with culture and ensure our brand remains culturally relevant
- Supports in the company’s approach and response in the region during regional crisis situations, working closely with peers across communications, legal, brand and people and culture.
- Work closely with peers across corporate communications, global and regional consumer PR, internal communications to ensure one brand voice to external audiences
- Collaborate and co-create with Social, Partnerships, and Sports Marketing to develop proactive Consumer-facing moments and activations that will build brand energy. Develop and regularly report on key indicators to objectively show the impact of strategy.
- Manage and build a team over time within the region to support internal communications, PR, and corporate communications priorities.
qualifications
- Proven leader, with 12 to 15 years of experience in communications roles of increasing responsibility within external and internal communications (fashion or retail experience preferred)
- Ability to articulate and co-create strategies with a wide range of people, including C-suite executives and employees at all levels of experience
- Demonstrated success guiding communications strategies for major brands, and managing a wide number of external agencies, consultants, and contractors
- Success leading and developing a team, creating opportunities for growth
- Proven ability to develop forward-looking communications and business strategies in competitive and dynamic situations.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with high-profile talent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and strong presentation skills.
- Able to quickly and easily develop relationships with people across cultures and geographies.
- Naturally inspires others and demonstrates an appetite for learning and personal development
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related discipline. Fluent in English.

Compensation and Benefits Package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $157,400 - $206,600 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
