A day in the life 

Based in the Korea Store Support Centre, and reporting to Legal Counsel, Korea, you will be responsible for a broad variety of legal matters including: 

 

Contract review & Chop Management:

  • Review the contracts as assigned by Legal Counsel. 
  • Support the maintenance and updating of Korean market standard contract templates and other legal documentation.
  • Oversee secure management and usage logs of the company's chop.

 

Legal Research & Dispute Support:

  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings as directed by Legal Counsel.
  • Support dispute resolution processes by gathering relevant documentation, preparing factual summaries, and maintaining case files.
  • Coordinate with external law firms, track time charges, and relevant communication.


Compliance Support:

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory updates, including relevant laws and standards (e.g., PIPA, Ecomme & Network Act etc,)
  • Serve as the first point of contact for retail and GEC for legal inquiries and guest complaints. 
  • Support the team in identifying issues and assisting with risk mitigation by helping coordinate with relevant stakeholders and preparing agendas and meeting materials as needed.
  • Support the maintenance and implementation of company policies and legal/compliance SOPs to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare and organize legally required evidence for compliance reviews, audits, and certification renewals, including privacy-related documentation required for maintaining ISMS certification.
  • Work closely with the regional team to align compliance-related projects and initiatives with the requirements and practices of the Korean market.

 

Training & Awareness:

  • Support the scheduling, preparation, and record keeping of legal and compliance training sessions.
  • Plan and conduct the compliance training to enhance the stakeholders’ awareness as necessary.  


Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in an in-house legal team or at a law firm, supporting legal or compliance functions, with experience in handling legal reviews and related tasks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law (or relevant legal education) is preferred.
  • Experience or familiarity with working in an MNC and/or the retail or e-commerce industry is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and document management tools.
  • Business-level proficiency in English.
