about this team

The Raw Materials Developer supports both seasonal and long-term fabric development through strong cross-functional collaboration. With a solid foundation in textile performance and material development, they bring curiosity, problem-solving, and technical rigor to advancing raw material solutions—always focused on delivering the best experience for lululemon’s core guest.

 

core responsibilities

  • Support the creation and launch of fabrics that meet technical and quality requirements across product categories, contributing to exceptional guest satisfaction while supporting lululemon’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, and Merchandising teams to align on fabric specifications, innovation goals, and supplier capabilities.
  • Provide informed input on material choices, development timelines, and potential risk management throughout key go-to-market milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mills and suppliers, staying informed on capabilities, developments and opportunities for innovation.
  • Track material trends, emerging technologies, and supplier advancements to support seasonal and long-term raw material planning.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by integrating preferred, circular, and low-impact materials into development where possible.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing learning, supporting peers and continuously building technical expertise.

 

qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in the textile industry, with exposure to fabric development, material innovation or product commercialization.
  • Experience working with global mills and suppliers, travel to manufacturing sites is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of textile manufacturing processes such as fiber processing, yarn formation, fabric construction, dyeing, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with fabric development processes, testing methods and industry standards with the ability to interpret results and apply learnings.
  • Ability to manage development timelines, key milestones, and risk mitigation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills when addressing raw material challenges, balancing performance, sustainability, and cost considerations.
  • Awareness of sustainable and circular materials, including basic knowledge of certifications, traceability, and environmental impacts.
  • Experience using digital tools or platforms for material development, tracking, and documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • A growth mindset with a desire to continuously learn and deepen technical expertise within the materials function.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $96,800-$127,100 CADannually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and, subject to program eligibility requirements.
