a day in the life:

  • Reporting to Senior Legal Counsel, Employment Compliance, you will be responsible for a broad variety of legal matters relating to employment law and regulatory compliance including:
  • Being the point of contact in the region for our Human Resources team (what we call People & Culture) team to ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local employment and labor law requirements and advising on practicable solutions.
  • Conducting research on legal and regulatory developments with respect to employment law.
  • Partnering with People & Culture to draft and review employment law policies, practices, and processes.
  • Providing practical legal advice to People & Culture business partners on a wide variety of employment law compliance issues, including but not limited to working time, time off and leaves, benefits, occupational health and safety, training and reporting requirements, and more.
  • Providing support to Senior Legal Counsel on strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Handling and coordinating any matters with external counsel when necessary.
  • Handling any ad-hoc tasks assigned.

qualifications:

  • Juris doctorate from accredited institution.
  • Qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction with the ability to register as in-house counsel.
  • Approximately 5-8 years legal experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly communicate legal requirements to non-legal partners.
  • Keen attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Good judgment and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $128,900 to 169,200annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
