Global Brand Experience


This role reports to the SVP, Global Brand Experience. The Brand Experience department is a core function of the Brand Marketing organization, with a sharp focus on elevating an inspired understanding of the brand and product stories that underpin and uniquely define lululemon across multiple platforms. Comprised of the core functions of Digital Brand Experience, Retail Brand Experience, Store Design and Event Experience, this team is redefining digital and physical brand experiences by providing strategic design for the online-to-offline journeys that serve our guests and drive sales.


The Director, Global Event Experience is responsible for leading the development and implementation of lululemon’s global event strategy and the concepting of all virtual and physical live events and experiences. This role will oversee experience design, event production, and all executional capabilities that will support our goal of hosting the most revered and anticipated experiences on the planet. This role will will be responsible for sourcing and implementing the technology used for virtual events and will be the point-of-contact for event agencies and technology suppliers. The Director, Global Event Experience role will lead the Global Event Experience team to concept and develop industry leading event and experience franchises, supporting the regional teams with the production of all events and experiences through content, tools, and operational capabilities.


A DAY IN THE LIFE


  • Create a transformative, never been done before global brand event strategy that ignites a community of people to live the sweat life - through virtual and physical sweat, grown, and connect experiences
  • Leverage a digital first approach for all events and experiences to drive online engagement and reach and activate a broad global audience 
  • Partner with agencies and technology suppliers to concept and develop industry leading virtual and physical live events and experiences 
  • Leverage virtual and physical experiences to support product launches and innovation moments, leveraging tactics that meaningfully connect guests to the brand
  • Support execution across all regions through event consulting, coaching and mentoring
  • Enhance lululemon’s event production capabilities by leading the development and standardization of lululemon’s event production processes, best practices and tools
  • Oversee centralized services to support the planning and production of all events through registration systems, marketing, guest data analysis and insights
  • Lead strategic initiatives that support the long-term growth and evolution of our event production capabilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Global Event Experience team and support the ongoing development of team managers across the regions
  • Manage team priorities and resource allocation to ensure that business objectives are being met
  • In partnership with international and local community partners, set annual team priorities to support mid and long term business objectives
  • Develop and manage budgets for the Global Events department and consult on events budget for cross-functional partners 

THE FINER PRINT:

  • An undergraduate degree is preferred 
  • 12+ years of experience managing virtual events, physical events, and large-scale brand-defining global live experiences at a purpose driven global company
  • Strong digital and virtual experience acumen
  • 5+ year of leading and developing teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Innovative and strategic thinker 
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction, seeking coaching and guidance as needed
