A day in the life: 
The Director, Global Production & Merchandising for Men's and Accessories, is dedicated to ensuring our finished goods are developed, costed, and produced to the highest quality on time, with our manufacturing partners, who share our commitment to elevating the world. You will partner with cross-functional teams across Asia and North America to deliver against the overall product and company vision, lead the team to collaborate and drive organizational strategies. 

Key responsibilities:

General Responsibility
  • Be the key sparring partner for Sr. Director Global Production and Merchandising
  • Support and drive company-wide (adhoc) initiatives – related to process and/or system improvements 
  • Manage team AOP and responsible for budget management  
  • Develop strong leadership within your team 

Category Responsibility
  • Own and speak to Men's and Accessories from the in-region perspective as a member of the Men's and Accessories Global POD
  • Participate in POD strategy and be a partner to the cross-functional Men's and Accessories teams throughout the product lifecycle

Production Responsibility
  • Lead and develop an in-region team to manage the production from BUY confirmation to shipment while reducing air freight 
  • Lead the resolution of production issues via end-to-end production management, and represent the production team in front of stakeholders 
  • Manage seasonal vendor-level OnTime Performance 
  • Onboard and train new vendors on lululemon production and logistics policies, processes, and IT systems; roll out new processes and procedures to assigned vendors as needed 
  • Drive vendor strategy and continuous improvement 
  • Own lead time rationalization 
  • Work closely with our Compliance and Quality teams to ensure social compliance and quality standards & goals are met 
  • Develop a strong and trusting relationship with cross-functional teams to build true partnerships and consistent goals

Merchandising
  • Lead and develop the team that partners with Product Development, Design, Costing and Sourcing teams to establish sourcing strategies and optimize the development & costing execution of our products
  • Support margin missions, and drive multi-sourcing initiatives and/or carryover developments 
  • Manage Critical Path from Tech Pack Handoff to Buy Release to ensure key milestones are met 
  • Lead the Merchandising team's in-season costing activities 
  • Drive vendor strategy and continuous improvement in collaboration with Costing and Manufacturing Excellence leaders 
  • Lead efficient vendor relationships that are beneficial to the brand and company

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or related discipline preferred, with 12+ years of relevant industry experience  
  • You have been an awesome People Leader for over 8 years, inspiring, developing and coaching others. Your leadership skills enable you to motivate cross-culture teams and build high-performing teams  
  • Agile, responds positively to change, embraces and employs new practices to accomplish goals and solve problems 
  • You have been in a matrix international work environment which requires you to utilize your influencing skills and collaborative efforts fully
  • You possess a solid knowledge of design and development, garment construction, and technical performance materials 
  • You are familiar with the product creation calendar timeline and can work under tight deadlines with time pressure
  • You enjoy working with cross-functional team accountabilities and requirements, including design, materials, sourcing, merchandising and quality assurance 
  • Fluency in English is essential. Mandarin and Cantonese an advantage 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly in MS Excel and experience using PLM and PO systems like Flex PLM and Tradestone is an advantage
  • You love to travel, are well-organized, and love to communicate with others
