NA Store Design Team is responsible for the retail design within North America for lululemon. We deliver on the company’s strategic growth plans through the execution of the brand’s pinnacle expression: The physical retail channels. We focus on design excellence, meticulously detailed architectural retail spaces, and our community through the lens of lululemon core values. Through creativity, clarity, and efficiency we support the business ambitions, and enhance guest experience, while delivering consistent design queues to reinforce a strong experiential brand identity.



job summary

  • A highly creative, self-motivated, and experience retail designer is responsible for owning and designing multiple projects across various divisions of Alternate Retail Channels (shop-in-shops, Campus, Sport Arenas, 10k Races, etc.)
  • Creation of new design elements and fixtures as required for multiple disciplines such as ideal layouts, merchandising strategy, fixture and signage design, development and rollout in collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • Create site specific design layouts, presentation materials, and design drawings for coordination with construction, visual merchandising, operations, strategic sales partners
  • Manage design presentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly skilled in collaboration and teamwork



key responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the creation and iteration of Retail Environmental Design projects that seek to address alternate retail channels in physical retail environments to support existing and new guests.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying scales of executions including architectural design, temporary installations, signage and fixture design and development and unique experiences. 
  • Creative thinking and problem solving to innovate new design standards, three-dimensional environments, layouts and fixtures specific to alternate retail channels.
  • Taking strategic direction from Senior Design Manager, execute design direction, create visual communications and prototypes that represent the store design.
  • Through collaboration with cross-functional partners, work through the innovation process from opportunity identification, concept development, to roll-out and scale of new retail design strategies, fixtures and concepts.
  • Engage with cross-functional partners to evaluate opportunities to develop and improve guest experience, display standards and storytelling.
  • Assist with the development of key FF&E standards that align with lululemon and Store Design Vision to enable scalable roll-out options for Store Design.
  • Execute and roll out design strategies aligned on with leadership under direction Senior Design Manager to cross-functional stakeholders and external partners, vendors and clients.
  • Lead enrolment with cross-functional stakeholders to reach alignment on objectives, expectations for execution
  • Produce new retail design concept documentation for integration into scalable roll-out format 



qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a retail designer in the following areas:  retail or multi-disciplinary design/architectural practice
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and rendering programs is required
  • Demonstrated work experience in design, design thinking, and innovation practices
  • Experience in fixture and industrial design is an asset
  • Experience in popup retail design and development is an asset
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, design focused, solution seeker
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in the use of design tools, presentation, and communications techniques
  • Proven ability to manage short deadlines
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complexity 
  • Exceptional organization and analytical skills with different sources of data 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Comfortable presenting to a large room and have an ability to rapidly absorb business process knowledge
  • B.S. or B.A. in Interior, Architectural Design, Industrial Design

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $81,500 - $107,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
