about the team:

Based in Vancouver, BC you’ll play an integral part in the indirect tax team, ensuring Value Added Tax “VAT” compliance for lululemon’s global operations excluding North America. The scope of this role will focus on European VAT compliance, including statistical reporting (Intrastat, EU sales, etc.).


a day in the life:

  • Prepare VAT returns and statistical declarations for EMEA marketplace VAT-registered countries and certain European markets.
  • Document and investigate accounting discrepancies with cross- functional partners.
  • Coordinate VAT payments and prepare related journal entries in our ERP system.
  • Manage and track monthly filing tasks, installments and outstanding tax refunds for assigned countries.
  • Reconcile VAT general ledger accounts for assigned countries.
  • Support VAT process related to wholesale partner onboarding.
  • Support audit activities including SOX, statutory and tax audits.
  • Prepare and update procedures documentation.
  • Support administration related to third party onboarding and invoicing.
  • Answer tax-related inquiries; assist with projects on an ad-hoc basis.


qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting; preference for candidates with or pursuing a professional accounting designation.
  • Experience with tax compliance is required with preference toward candidates with indirect tax education and/or experience.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality.
  • Proven team player and ability to work independently to deliver results.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple deadlines and ability to adapt.
  • Comfortable with rapid growth and changing environments.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement both professionally and personally.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Strong research problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong computer and database/spreadsheet skills are required; experience with an MRP/ERP system and Oracle is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $66,000-$86,600annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
