about this team

As part of the Finance team, we are responsible for the overall integrity, controls and reporting of lululemon’s global inventory. With over $1.5B in inventory spread across 1,000+ stores and 14+ distribution centers, we take pride in providing the business and our investors with accurate inventory information.

 

core responsibilities

Working closely with the Inventory Accounting team, this person will ensure accurate accounting for lululemon’s inventory. They will be responsible for assigned G/L inventory accounts from journal entries to analysis and internal/external reporting. They will become the subject matter expert for their assigned accounts and will be called upon to apply and advise on applicable accounting principles.

 

  • Month end journal entry preparation & account analysis.
  • Monthly reconciliation and review of assigned B/S and P&L accounts.
  • Analysis and application of GAAP requirements related to inventory and sales and adoption of new accounting standards and policies as applicable.
  • Resolving accounting issues related to inventory and sales that have been escalated and concise documentation of conclusions.
  • Preparation and documentation of supporting information as needed for internal, external and regulatory audits.
  • Performing monthly & quarterly control requirements and regular assessment of control needs.
  • Review, document and develop procedures to improve processes.
  • Work cross functionally with other teams and departments to support appropriate accounting of inventory.

 

qualifications

  • A business degree in accounting or finance.
  • 1+ years of professional work experience
  • Month end close and reporting experience is an asset
  • Sales and inventory accounting experience an asset
  • Experience with Oracle EBS and Spreadsheet Server, or equivalent, an asset
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office with strong skills in Excel
  • Excellent teamwork & interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and capable of meeting tight timelines.
  • Ability to suggest alternatives and ideas for improvement.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP is an asset

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $57000 - $70000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
