About this team  

The Global Sports Marketing team is responsible for the creation and execution of the Global Sports Marketing strategy in parallel with brand imperatives, which is comprised of athletes, city, and store ambassador programs. We work highly cross-functional with regional teams and business partners to help solidify lululemon’s position as a leader in the sports marketing space and drive overall brand awareness and consideration. 

 

A day in the life:  

  • Sports Marketing Strategy & Execution 
    • Partner closely with Sr. Director to develop and refine global sports marketing strategy and athlete roster, ensuring alignment with overarching brand and business goals. 
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand marketing, product, relationship managers, casting, and regional teams to ensure global Ambassadors are authentically represented and elevated for brand impact and business performance.
    • Develop tools, templates, and training (as needed) to support regional sports marketing teams and global relationship managers in developing marketing plans and year-end scorecards.
    • Provide strategic support to global relationship managers in the development and execution of athlete business cases and pitch decks, ensuring consistent positioning and presentation across all touchpoints, ensuring equal brand impact and both short + long-term business results. 
    • Lead the refinement of the roster review process in partnership with program and relationship managers, delivering quarterly updates to BLT and regional leaders.
    • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure marketing plans, roster reviews, and scorecards are integrated with the Global Sports Marketing (GSM) roadmap, quarterly reports, and QAR processes.
    • Maintain weekly alignment with the North America Sports Marketing team to review upcoming campaigns and event briefs to ensure seamless Ambassador integration at the global level.
    • Monitor and analyze performance metrics tied to athlete relationships, leveraging insights to optimize future partnerships and marketing initiatives.
    • Lead or support athlete onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistent experience and brand alignment across all regions.
    • Stay ahead of sports and cultural trends, leveraging insights to evolve the global sports marketing strategy and drive innovation and a competitive edge within the Ambassador program.

 

  • Global Partnerships 
    • Own the strategic direction for existing and potential Peloton trainers within the Ambassador ecosystem, ensuring alignment with broader partnership and business goals. 
    • Partner with Brand Marketing and Partnerships to maximize the value and impact of the overall Peloton relationship through the Ambassador relationships. 
    • Lead and support an individual who will be responsible for the day-to-day relationship management of the Peloton ambassadors.
    • Manage overall Peloton budget in partnership with FP&A to ensure accurate tracking and alignment allocated budget.
    • Manage the overall strategic direction for Team Canada athletes through LA28 with a focus on impactful athletes who have strong potential in the Olympics and Paralympics, alongside Partnerships and the NA Brand Marketing team.
    • Lead an individual who will be responsible for day-to-day relationship management, strategic development, and execution of Team Canada Ambassadors. 
  • Social Impact x Sports Marketing
    • Work alongside the Center for Social impact to create meaningful and impactful strategies for how we bring giving into the sports marketing space more powerfully.
    • Work to also develop new opportunities around athletes & mental health, or currently undiscovered blank space.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 8-10 years of sports marketing experience, athlete management, and brand partnerships. 
  • Strong network in the fitness and sports industries with a deep understanding of sports marketing globally
  • Strong ability to influence & collaborate with team members along with the ability to seamlessly navigate highly cross functional work
  • Understanding of legalese and contract negotiations 
  • Possesses strong communication skills and has the ability 
  • Experience leading a small team.

Compensation and Benefits Package  

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $134,000 to $176,000 USD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
