About this team
Raw Material Colourization Team - The Raw Materials Developer (Colour) is a technical expert who is passionate about executing seasonal and long range colour developments. They lead from a place of inquiry and apply reason and critical thinking to analyse and improve process and product offerings.
A day in the life
- Sends lab dip requests to vendors from Flex PLM
- Supports developer in seasonal colour feasibility
- Reviews lab dip colourfastness results to ensure ratings are acceptable
- Knowledgeable of all calendar deadlines and how they affect the overall business needs
- Reviews and approves lab dips on all substrates to ensure max visual compliance to the colour standard
- Works side by side with developer to support in balancing workload and business needs
- Learns and incorporates digital colour review to evaluate lab dips
- Understands basic colour theory to solve colour issues
- Tracks lab dip data in Flex PLM and sends daily vendor comments
Qualifications:
- 1- 2 years of experience in colour related field & technical training
- Post-secondary education in fashion or textiles area of study
- Digital colour technical knowledge: ability to measure and assess spectrophotometer readings
- Good understanding of Datacolor and/or X-rite software
- Experience working in a PLM system
- Score of 16 or better on Munsell Hue 100 Test
- Team player and good understanding of apparel industry functions
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PLM software, Microsoft office applications and Outlook); experience with colour tools and systems
- Knowledge of product creation calendar timeline and able to work against deadlines
