about this team

The Global Digital Commerce Architecture team at lululemon is responsible for designing and evolving the technology platforms and services that power our eCommerce experiences and supporting capabilities—from digital merchandising and checkout to post-purchase, payments, and fulfillment. We enable seamless and scalable guest experiences across our global markets by partnering closely with engineering, product, program, UX, and business stakeholders.

As a member of this team, you will operate in a dynamic, matrixed environment where architects are not only technical leaders but also strategic partners. You will help shape the future of our digital commerce ecosystem, ensuring our platforms are resilient, performant, secure, and aligned with lululemon’s long-term business goals and enterprise standards.

Core Responsibilities

As a Senior Architect, you play a pivotal role in supporting delivery teams by crafting detailed solution roadmaps for a defined set of capabilities, systems, or projects. You collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure implementations align with architectural intent and business goals.

  • Lead the design and evolution of technology solutions across the architecture lifecycle, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Engineers, Project Managers, and Architects to define project requirements, success criteria, and design guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in and present at architecture design reviews, advocating for sound design principles and engineering best practices.
  • Proactively engage cross-functional stakeholders, gather organizational context, and incorporate insights into architectural decisions.
  • Identify and document deviations from future-state architecture, escalating where necessary to maintain architectural integrity.
  • Clearly communicate trade-offs in architecture and engineering approaches; adapt processes to project and team needs.
  • Contribute to the Architecture Community of Practice, sharing knowledge and presenting at internal events to foster alignment and growth across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, cloud-based software systems.
  • Solid industry background in retail or eCommerce domains is preferred.
  • Good Hands on experience with spring and related frameworks for 4-5 years
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms, with hands-on experience in AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • In-depth understanding of cloud security threat models, compliance requirements, and platform-native security capabilities.
  • Strong ability to select and implement cloud services across compute, storage, database, and analytics based on specific use cases.
  • Experience conducting technology evaluations, scoring, and selecting tools or vendors aligned to business and architectural goals.
  • Deep knowledge of integration patterns across cloud, SaaS, and PaaS platforms.
  • Good Hands on experience with spring and related frameworks for 4-5 years and Practical experience with containerization and container orchestrators such as Kubernetes.
  • Strong capabilities in data architecture, including analytics pipelines, visualization frameworks, and scalable data solutions.
  • Comfortable working within Agile delivery frameworks, promoting continuous collaboration between architecture and engineering teams.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $123,000 - $162,000annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
