about this team

The income tax team at lululemon is a key part of our global finance organization. This team is responsible for the global strategizing, preparation, and review of income tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, including U.S. federal, state, and international returns. It also leads tax provision work under ASC 740, and partners with business units to ensure tax planning and compliance align with lululemon’s operational goals. The team plays a vital role in managing tax risk and supporting the company’s continued global expansion.

 

core responsibilities

  • Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including cross-border tax compliance filings (Forms 5471, 8858, etc.).
  • Prepare and remit U.S. federal and state quarterly tax installment payments. 
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provision workpapers in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Support U.S. federal and state tax audits including responding to notices and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Research U.S. federal and state tax matters and monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact the company’s tax position.
  • Contribute to process improvements, tax technology implementation, and automation efforts.  Maintain accurate tax records and schedules.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, and other cross-functional teams at lululemon.

qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or a Master’s degree in U.S. taxation preferred.
  • 2 – 4 years of U.S. corporate tax experience in public accounting or an in-house corporate tax department.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws.
  • Familiarity with ASC 740 tax provision principles.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and U.S. tax compliance preparation software (e.g. ONESOURCE, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $81,500 - $107,000annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
