We are responsible for designing the global product assortment, creating the global colour palette, seasonal prints and graphics. You’ll join Women’s Lifestyle & Soft Woven Design team, focused on elevated essentials in high performance materials, and versatile separates. We work collaboratively across Development, Technical Design, Fabric, Sourcing, and Merchandising, connecting creative vision with technical expertise to deliver collections that reflect lululemon’s DNA.

Soft woven pieces are woven fabrics that are soft, fluid, and comfortable, combining style, movement, and premium quality. Designing these products requires deep fabric and trim knowledge, draping skills, and technical construction expertise, balancing creativity with functionality.

 

core responsibilities

  • Design soft woven apparel: elevated essentials, versatile separates, and wardrobe staples.

  • Produce detailed sketches, CADs, and tech packs with precise construction, draping, and trim details.

  • Drive fit, fabric, drape, and finish discussions with Development, Technical Design, and Fabric teams.

  • Apply innovative fabric and raw materials knowledge to create functional, stylish products.

  • Support the Director in researching new raw materials and trims to be developed.

  • Develop colour and graphic assortments that align with seasonal direction and brand DNA.

  • Ensure products reflect Lululemon’s aesthetic, workmanship, and technical standards.

  • Partner with Merchandising to create consumer-relevant assortments with clear intent and positioning.

  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Fabric, and Technical teams to problem-solve and achieve design intent.

  • Mentor Junior team members to develop skills and build functional expertise, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and creative environment.

  • Research trends, culture, sustainability innovations, and the competitive landscape to stay ahead of competitors and keep your technical expertise and industry knowledge up to date.

  • Champion new soft woven fabrics, sustainable materials, draping techniques, and innovative construction solutions.

  • Balance creative vision with commercial viability and guest insights.

 

qualifications

  • 8+ years of design experience.

  • Strong portfolio in women’s lifestyle apparel, particularly soft woven elevated essentials and versatile separates.

  • Deep expertise in Soft Woven fabrics, draping, trims, fit, and garment construction.

  • Skilled in hand sketching, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Experienced in global development calendars and working with overseas factories.

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior designers and collaborating across functions.

  • Deep awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion in design and team culture.

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200 to $156,500 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
