The International Localization Team’s goal is to make lululemon’s brand and products relevant in the countries we sell in, and to continuously expand our operations to new markets. We fuel business success by making important information available to consumers in their language in a culturally appropriate and timely way. We aim to be recognized as a brand that resonates with fitness lovers around the world. Our Localization team supports international business needs by translating or transcreating various external and internal communications and resources. As a localization specialist, you communicate with regional/global partners and make sure the team is delivering excellent localized contents on time in Korean language.
a day in the life
The Localization Specialist pursues excellence in translation quality and consistency including localizing English content for Korean-speaking markets, reviewing machine translations, maintaining terminology databases and supporting memory maintenance for machine translations.
- Translate or transcreate English content into Korean and support business needs such as product education, training resource, internal communication, digital content, video subtitles and et ecetra
- Play key part of the proofreading phase of all major translation processes by proactively pursuing excellence in translation quality and consistency across all platforms and channels in the required language
- Create language style guides and maintain up-to-date glossary and terminology database
- Contribute to quality control through routine quality check with translation freelancers and enterprise vendors
- Coordinate language feedback from users, including reporting on guest and lululemon employee engagement
- Maintain close cooperation with regional stakeholders including in-market storytellers, training managers, communications specialists and also with a group of freelance translators, questioning and/or answering any stylistic or linguistic questions
- Understand the needs of our international users
qualifications
- Native-level knowledge of English and the required language in both oral and written
- Extensive knowledge of language and culture differences and nuances
- At least 3 years of hands-on translation and transcreating/creative copywriting
- Time management and organizational skills and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of industry trends and technologies
- Passion for languages and translation
- Experience with online translation software and systems
- Working knowledge of localized SEO principles and trends
- Basic knowledge of HTML, TXML or TM technologies is an asset
