core responsibilities

Based in the London Store Support Centre and reporting to the Senior Director, Associate General Counsel, this is a 14 months contract and an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic legal team supporting lululemon's operations across EMEA. You will be responsible for a broad range of commercial legal matters and will partner closely with teams across the business to help deliver strategic objectives while managing legal and compliance risk. Working in close collaboration with global and regional colleagues, you will be:

  • Supporting our Real Estate and Store Development teams on store lease negotiations, lease management matters, construction and store development projects, landlord discussions and other property-related initiatives across EMEA.
  • Managing the legal aspects of new store openings, relocations, refurbishments and other strategic real estate projects, working alongside both internal partners and external legal advisers.
  • Advising on the negotiation, drafting and implementation of a broad range of commercial contracts supporting our marketing, retail, digital and ecommerce channels. This will include sponsorships, collaborations, technology agreements, vendor contracts, promotional initiatives and other commercial arrangements.
  • Partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders across Brand, Marketing, Digital, Ecommerce, Retail Operations, Procurement and Technology to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice that enables business growth.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance regional contract templates, playbooks, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships across the business and with the global legal team, taking time to understand lululemon's strategy, operations and commercial priorities.
  • Proactively driving continuous improvement in regional ways of working, including identifying opportunities to leverage technology, simplify processes and enhance risk management.
  • Thinking laterally and delivering practical, innovative and solutions-oriented advice that balances legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Managing the effective instruction and oversight of external counsel and other legal service providers.
  • Providing support to theSeniorLegalDirector and broader legal leadership team on strategic regional initiatives and special projects as required.

 

qualifications

  • Solicitor qualified to practise in England and Wales. As a guide, we are seeking someone with approximately 3-6 years' post-qualification experience, although exceptional candidates with the right expertise and capability will be considered.
  • Strong commercial contracting experience, gained in private practice and/or an in-house legal environment.
  • Experience advising consumer-facing, retail, ecommerce, technology or marketing-focused businesses would be highly beneficial.
  • Exposure to commercial real estate, leasing, construction or store development matters would behighlyadvantageous.
  • Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of business operations, risk management and stakeholder priorities.
  • Technically capable, with a broad understanding of the laws, regulations and processes that affect retail and consumer-led businesses across the UK and Europe.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with senior stakeholders across a wide range of business functions.
  • Strong analytical, drafting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment with a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and sound judgement.
  • Curious, collaborative and eager to learn and develop.

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
