Our Global Distribution teams are part of our greater lululemon Supply Chain organization. This team supports lululemon’s overall purpose by ensuring we are fulfilling our products to our guests through our various channels including our retail stores and ecommerce.  At its core, this team oversees, manages, and owes product flow through each of our North American DC’s for all channels.  

 

The Production Control Manager leads a team and is directly responsible workload balancing and maintaining a consistent flow throughout the facility. This leader will manage and oversee the effective and efficient release of work to our distribution centers, improve methods, steps, and instructions to ensure consistent operations.

 

a day in the life

As the Manager of Production Control, you will orchestrate the seamless flow of products within your site, ensuring operational excellence, driving efficiency, and championing innovation to support the organization's strategic goals. You will lead cross-functional teams, implement transformative initiatives, and build a culture of continuous improvement, enabling the organization to meet and exceed performance targets.

 

Team Leadership & Development:

  1. Manage and lead a team of Production Control Coordinators within the Distribution Center
  2. Build a high performing team and create an environment of autonomy 
  3. Assist in supporting overall PC people goals, including leading and participating in team trainings, team builders, and team recognition and engagement
  4. Assess individual and team training needs and complete development plans for team members
  5. Attend leadership team meetings and operation report outs. Cascade information to the teams

Operational Optimization:

  1. Develop and maintain daily production control operational processes to meet ever-evolving business and operational requirements
  2. Execute continuous improvement initiatives based on strategic priorities defined by the Production Control Senior leadership
  3. Set department daily and short-term goals to achieve Distribution Center KPIs
  4. Provide consultation regarding waving exception requests or intersecting project requirements
  5. Manage shift scheduling and maintain primary and secondary coverage protocols
  6. Oversee daily wave scheduling and identify opportunities to standardize or improve processes 

Collaboration & Strategic Execution:

  1. Provide sound judgement and communicate recommendations within the distribution center around service level and prioritization
  2. Drive updates to production control reports as operational needs and processes change
  3. Manage adherence to procedures & protocols that reduce risk to production (process controls, people coverage, report-monitoring)
  4. Engage with cross functional partners to drive local enhancements to configuration, reporting, and waving
  5. Facilitate go live implementation and provide result analysis with various partners within the distribution network

 

qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, production planning or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Minimum three years management experience 
  • Three to five years planning, production and/or quality experience, with specific knowledge of program management and production control systems
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) 
  • Flexibility in work scheduled is strongly desired. This can include adjusting to different shifts, working extended hours, weekends, holidays, etc.
  • Experience in high volume retail distribution environments highly preferred
  • Possess strong collaboration skills and approach problems with a solution mindset 
  • Strong written and verbal communication 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Manhattan experience (WM, PKMS, etc.)
  • SQL language proficiency a plus 
  • Experience with Power BI a plus

Compensation and Benefits Package 
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $103,500-135,900 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
