Description et exigences

who we are

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.

about this team

The Global UX Design function is part of the Global Digital and Omni team. We lead user-centered experience strategy, design systems, and production-ready design across lululemon’s digital ecosystem.

This team designs end-to-end experiences across mobile, web, and in-store touchpoints, with a growing focus on building deeply connected, mobile-first guest experiences. We operate as strategic partners to Product and Engineering, grounded in guest empathy, strong craft, and systems thinking.

Our work supports a growing global audience, requiring thoughtful consideration of regional behaviors, expectations, and constraints while maintaining a cohesive brand and platform experience.

about the role

We are building the next generation of the lululemon Guest App. A mobile-first, member-centered experience that goes beyond e-commerce into inspiration, membership, and support.

This is not a traditional production design role.

As a Senior UX Designer on the Guest App team, you will own meaningful parts of our iOS and Android app experience end-to-end. You will help define what best-in-class retail and membership experiences look like on mobile. Experiences that feel native, personal, and seamlessly connected to web and in-store journeys.

As we expand into new international markets, this role will also consider how guest needs, cultural norms, and regional requirements influence mobile experiences, and how to design for flexibility without fragmentation.

You will operate with high autonomy, lead your own workstreams, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Research to ship thoughtful, high-impact solutions. Think less screen-by-screen execution, more systems-level thinking. Like designing a city, not just a building.

core responsibilities

Own Experiences End-to-End

  • Lead design for key areas of the Guest App such as Discovery, Inspiration, Purchase & Payment, or Membership.
  • Drive work from ambiguous problem statement to shipped, measurable solution.
  • Define not just what we build, but why it matters for guests and the business.
  • Account for how experiences may need to scale or adapt across regions while remaining cohesive and intuitive.

Design Native Mobile Experiences

  • Create experiences that feel at home on iOS and Android, not scaled-down web.
  • Leverage native mobile patterns such as gestures, sheets, modals, contextual navigation, and progressive disclosure.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to ensure feasibility, polish, and platform excellence.
  • Consider regional expectations, compliance needs, and device behaviors when designing mobile interactions.

Think Strategically, Not Just Tactically

  • Frame problems clearly before jumping to solutions.
  • Connect design decisions to guest needs, behaviors, and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to broader product and UX strategy beyond your immediate scope.
  • Balance global consistency with local relevance through intentional system and pattern design.

Operate With High Autonomy

  • Independently manage your workstream with minimal oversight.
  • Navigate ambiguity confidently and proactively move work forward.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities early and align partners around decisions.
  • Surface regional considerations early and help teams make informed tradeoffs.

Collaborate and Influence

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data, and Research.
  • Bring others into the design process early through workshops, critiques, and async collaboration.
  • Clearly communicate your thinking through storytelling, design reviews, and leadership presentations.
  • Collaborate with distributed partners, incorporating regional perspectives into decision-making.

Craft, Systems, and Quality

  • Create deliverables at the right fidelity for the moment, from flows and prototypes to final UI.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design systems and pattern libraries.
  • Maintain clear UX documentation including specs, research findings, and usage guidelines.
  • Mentor and guide other designers on craft, process, and strategic thinking.
  • Collaborate with distributed partners, incorporating regional perspectives into decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in Product Design or UX Design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking and shipped work.
  • Hands-on experience designing native mobile apps for iOS and/or Android.
  • Advanced skills in user-centered design, interaction design, visual design, and accessibility for mobile and web.
  • Deep understanding of mobile UX patterns and platform conventions, including iOS Human Interface Guidelines and/or Android Material Design.
  • Expertise with Figma and collaborative tools such as Miro.
  • Experience translating qualitative and quantitative data into design decisions.
  • Practical understanding of modern technologies used to build native mobile and responsive web experiences.
  • Ability to balance strong craft with an iterative, agile approach.
  • BA or BS in UX, HCI, Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience considering or designing for multiple regions, markets, or user segments is a strong plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing retail or e-commerce mobile apps.
  • Familiarity with experimentation and data-informed design.
  • Experience contributing to or shaping design systems.
  • Passion for fitness, wellness, or lifestyle products.
  • Exposure to internationalization, localization, or global product teams.

must haves

    • Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.
    • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results.
    • Communicate with honesty and kindness and create the space for others to do the same.
    • Lead with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.
    • Foster connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.
    • Integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn’t take yourself too seriously.
