The Global Social team is responsible for bringing our brand to life for our Guests across the social ecosystem. We’re a team of storytellers – creatives, curators, and strategists – passionate about inspiring people to move, feel, and live fully.

 

core responsibilities

The Sr. Director, Global Social Media is a leadership role based in Los Angeles.

 

This role is responsible for the vision, strategy, and enablement of our social strategy across the social ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of sport, style, and culture — translating the energy of performance and the spirit of mindfulness into stories that move people. You’ll lead the team to deliver meaningful Athlete, Community, and Product stories that inspire our Guests around the world and move people to take action.


Some key responsibilities include:

  • Develop enterprise vision for and lead global and regional social teams to maintain unified social media strategy across owned, earned, and paid; ensuring that social ecosystem, including content delivers against brand health objectives and native social best practices
  • Lead development of evergreen social content strategy and annual & quarterly editorial planning in partnership with global/regional brand marketing, social, PR, and community teams.
  • Responsible for leading creation of and enrollment of social creative direction and guidelines, concept development, and content production for all owned content
  • Partner with external vendors to develop lululemon-specific platform best practices and playbooks to elevate storytelling and enable more agile and daily engagement with Consumers
  • Partner with senior leadership stakeholders to manage and minimize brand risk and crises as they occur on social platforms

 

qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or communications preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in social media, editorial planning, and digital strategy
  • People management experience
  • Has experience leading creative teams
  • Has in-house brand experience at a premium brand
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and efficiency through development and implementation of processes and workflows
  • Exceptional organization and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing a complex budget
  • Knowledge of various social platforms, social tools, and workflows
  • Experience operating in a cross-functionally in a global, matrixed organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Experience working in Airtable would be beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $194,300-$255,000 USD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
