About this team:
The People Analytics & Insights team at lululemon is on a journey to create a high-performance work culture
by support the People & Culture (HR) organization and the business with data-driven insights. As a Sr. Manager
of People Research Science, you will lead and build a team of People Scientist and Employee Listening
professions in service of the broader People Analytics team to conduct research and listening initiatives that
our business leaders need to help scale and grow lululemon. You will be responsible for driving the research
science vision and introduce ML principles and build prescriptive analytics into the way of life at lululemon.
A day in the life:
• Lead and grow a world class applied science team
• Lead, conduct, and support applied organizational research projects that have high technical depth
and business impact, including areas of statistical and causal inference, user modeling, social network
analysis, etc.
• Lead multiple projects, inferring the ROI of our programs through scientifically backed methods
• Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different
analytical and statistical approaches.
• Contribute towards advancing the Listening & Research discipline at lululemon, including but not
limited to driving data best practices (e.g. analysis, experimentation etc), documenting research
processes, and writing write papers to contribute to the lululmeon people science knowledge base.
• Utilize advanced quantitative methods such as experimental methods, causal inference, and creating
NLP to tackle complex, long-term challenges that have a significant impact on our business.
• Consulting on survey design to achieve the research results needed to produce insights desired
• Conduct data analysis of major survey projects across the lifecycle of employment through a
continuous listening approach
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to
inform research strategies and stay ahead of the curve
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. (PhD preferred)
• 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g.,
Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 6 years of work experience with a
PhD degree. .
• 3 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
• Excellent communication skills and experience successfully partnering with senior leaders to drive
improved outcomes for the business through analytics.
• Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and detail orientation
• Proven ability to deliver presentations to stakeholders that tell a compelling story using analytics
relevant to the audience.
• Experience with employees and organizational data is preferred required
• Advanced People Analytics domain knowledge required
• Preference will be given to published researchers
• Discretion and experience working with sensitive and confidential data
• Training in a quantitative field, computer science, economics, or other relevant fields.
• Advanced SQL , querying, data mining & cleaning skills
• Expert Experience with R or Python is required
• Experience building Machine Learning Models
